I grabbed a frozen lunch sized bolognaise and pasta portion for lunch and grabbed 2 scones for breakfast.

But I caved and bought a fry up at work and had the scones as an afternoon snack.

    Diet? What diet!

Sounds sensible taking hot food as you're working late pozza_73 x

I've cut back dramatically on my lunchtime food to accommodate a vain attempt at a diet... It's pathetic really as I only want/need to lose half a stone, but I just can't help myself at the weekends and it's really hard when you're a carb junky. Full respect goes to those who manage to lose stones!! :T However, cutting back on the snacky extra's in my lunchbox must at least be having a financial benefit, as I now tend to stick to just my bowl of cous cous, sandwiches, or this last week, 4 crackers with a dairylea triangle.

Last night I got an urge to do some cupboard/fridge clearing and made a cheese and mash pie (potatoes & cheese to use up), the spare cheese was grated, split and bagged and is in the freezer ready for emergency cous cous lunches, I just need to buy and cook some chicken breasts to go along with it. I also made up some sugar free jelly and split it into tubs, so I have that to go alongside today's crackers & cheese.

Ooooh I am a total carb-a-holic and that's my huge down fall - she says, guiltily stuffing a pag of McCoys in her mush (yes, from the vending machine :o)

I need to tackle weight and finances, and though I can do both together I did it before (losing 8lb in 4 weeks) but I totally burned myself out of interest in salad, whoops. I still haven't gained any interest back :(

I love jelly, and made some for the boys - if I can get past the initial friendly jokes about eating jelly in work then that's a yummy low cal sweet toothed thing to eat, and I can't remember the price of the sugar free sachets but would still be cheaper than a chocolate bar.

And I was thinking instead of the crisps to bring some popcorn in. Home Bargains sell 4 microwave bags for £1, either sweet, salty or mixing packets. One 25p bag would do at least 3 lunchtime portions. I don't suppose microwave-in-a-bag popcorn is too healthy but I have never twigged how to add the salt flavouring to plain air popped popcorn from a large bag. Besides, if I'm worried about a third of a bag of microwave popcorn being unhealthy, I shouldn't be stuffing my face with a bag of McCoys, right? :p

But, for today I brought 2 scones in for breakfast (I seem to be the only one eating them! I might need to freeze the rest as this isn't healthy, whoops) and some pasta bake left over from dinner last night. ..... That would be the pasta bake that we also have for dinner tonight as there was soooo much spare :rotfl:

I hope you enjoyed the McCoys! :D

Thankfully I don't have vending machine temptation. I work right next to a supermarket thought which used to prove fatal, so bringing lunch to work has been very beneficial and I think I've only been into the supermarket 3 times all year, and then only when it's fallen upon me to do the milk run for work.

The sachet's of jelly are definitely the way forward. These are similar to the tubs I use (although I bought mine for £1 from the local discount store). http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-go-cook-klipfresh-140ml-square-4pk/212-1873.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=212-1873 The sachets cost around 50p for the supermarkets own (I preferred this in a taste test as well), and when I do it I divide the mix between 5 tubs to last me the week. I think it works out as less than 10 calories per portion. The best thing is when your spoon makes a dodgy noise because of the sticky suction, and you have to explain to your colleagues that it was the jelly and not you... thankfully only happened to me twice so far this year :rotfl:

As for crisps, I usually go for whatever is on offer in the supermarket, quavers, wotsits and skips are the lowest calorie options all at less than 90 calories per packet.

I have been working 12 - 10 this week. Tuesday I took my dinner to work but today I went to Costco and had a jacket spud with chilli and cheese. It was only £1.50 which didn't make me feel so bad. I should bring my dinner in tomorrow but struggling with what to take :(

Oh Costco lunches are a total bargain aren't they? I have the same inspiration issues over breakfast but might make some porridge 'pucks' to freeze for a quick breakie.

Haha re the sucky noises - I also wondered about when jelly tries to do olympic dives off the spoon to just belly flop on the desk with an attractive wobble :rotfl:

ROFL!!!! I admit this has happened on a couple of occasions, but either I've been in the office on my own, or nobody else sits so they have a direct line of sight to me/my desk, so I've managed to keep these incidents to myself! The sucky noises however are harder to disguise!

Ah leftover pasta is the bee knees for a cheap and healthy lunch sophie.christie - if you have a microwave, or one of those pasta thermosflasks, it's so convenient

I woke up late this morning (as in, I woke up at the time I was supposed to be walking out of the front door) so no breakfast or lunch sorted whoops!

I'm working away this weekend but if I'm not pooped after work on Friday I think I'll make up some porridge to freeze for breakfast, and then when I get home on Sunday I'll make up a bag of microwave sweet popcorn and sperate into smaller bags, and then I'll make some olympic jelly up too. I can then make up more during the week

If I don't get toooooo bored, it'll do me a week's worth of breakfasts and snacks. I so need to get myself back into a routine, I'm burning up money and piling on weight right now, and I'm the only one who can control this!
