Morning all - everyone recovered from the bank holiday then? I was so jealous of Michelle out at the weekend. Sounded lovely....

Am feeling v tired and not on top form today so will do what I can but not beat myself up about what I can't. Little man is teething again so v demanding but his wee smile is worth it.

Hello to all newbies. Stick with it. I'm far, far from where I want to be but I'm getting there slowly which is keeping me sane.

Hope everyone has a fabby day esp those with LO's on half term

    Good morning :hello:

It is freezing her in eastern Scotland, I am wearing my winter jumper!!

didn't do much flying yesterday.. we had a booksale on Sunday to raise funds for my DD gymnastics club and when we got back (soaked, tired and cold) everything got dumped in the kitchen and.. it is still there...

Kids off school yesterday and I was in one of those :Can't be bothered moods so when I got back from the schoolrun this morning and walked into the kitchen, I could just cry.. But I got stuck in and now nearly looking good again. Radio on loud. Luckily the living room is not terribly messy and shouldn't take me long

    today:

    finish kitchen
living room, at least levels 1 and 2
    wm on
    iron (tonight)
cook bacon joint (for macaroni Dutch style tonight)
    swish and swipe bathroom
    trying to get warm..

Trying not to be so on my teenagers DD case all the time, had a good talk last night and I have been quite horrible to her lately (apparantly), constantly telling her off, so will make an effort to praise her more, We are so proud of her, she needs to hear it more..

My fingers are getting frostbite behind this computer so better get active doing housework... Bye for now..

    warm hugs for everyone :grouphug:

What a slow and wet day.

Had a really grizzly morning with Charlie. DH went into work early (6ish) waking Charlie up, so i managed to not get up till 7, but then have a grumpy baby until 10 when i persuaded him to sleep for an hour eventually.

    I've not managed much.
    • WM - washed a load of my trousers as they are all covered in nasty baby stains or dairylea
    • washed the baby bouncer chair cover in with my swimming cossie on a quick wash, and DH will be putting the chair away tonight as i am so fed up of tripping over it
    • fully marked 5 papers
    • partly marked 6 papers
    • fed the cats x2
    • emptied the upstairs airers to hang my stuff up.
I can't even go out like i planned as Charlie puked all down me this morning, and i haven't even got clean/dry clothes to put on. This grumpy demanding baby stage is really starting to get on my nerves. I am struggling to get any time for anything. He's crying now and i am just ignoring him. It's either that or lose my temper at the minute, and i don't want to do that.

I keep thinking to myself it is just a stage and we will get through it, but he's been demanding since birth and i don't think it will stop for a good while just yet.

Best go to him cos i am feeling guilty now. Will check back in later for a sanity saver.

    Michelle, x

Tartan Mum - i know why you were jealous. To be honest i wish it were Sunday again cos it was lovely to have a break from the whining, and save my back breaking for a day.

EDIT: Michelle So sorry your having a bad day, saw you post after mine had gone on so big hugs chuck! Sorry can't really offer any words of advise, is he grumpy from his teeth or just being a man and moaning (sorry chaps!)? IF its teeth, have you tired Ashton and Parsons powders or even a spot of Calpol to help or I've read when babies get to this stage they're mentally developing but their bodies aren't so they get fusterated (sure you know this) -does any toy help, being in a baby walker for 10 mins so he can be independant in getting round for a bit or sometimes when Sams bad I result to being naughty and put CBeebies on and snuggle up with him on sofa, half an hour of this can get us in a better mood for the afternoon. Sam loves to be in his walker but I've read some people think they're get bad so I try and limit it the time hes in but he likes to toddle about and play, don't think its doing him any harm and of course I'm always with him. Hope I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs but can't think of what to say and know its know fun when you have days like this xxx

Have been away at the seaside for the long weekend (SHIVERY) and at school this morning catching up on the paperwork mountain which was hiding my desk. It's lovely here without anyone else except the caretaker so I've reduced the pile considerably. But I haven't started this week's list.

Whilst we were away DD was in and out of the house so it wan't quite as I'd left it when we came back. But she's gloating ... sent me a text to say 'What would flylady say? There's a plant growing in the crack between two tiles on the kitchen floor.' Checked this morning and she's right. I think it's a baby blade of grass :o Now torn between nurturing it or pulling it up. I think it deserves respect for struggling to grow there, but what does it say about my floor washing skills? ;)

    Afternoon all

    Not having a good day.

One load of washing done, most of it dry (weather's not bad here, cold this morning though)

Cable box died on Saturday morning and we had to wait until today for a new one. Man turned up (he was a right grumpy bum), fitted new one, all working, went away.

About an hour later I tried it and it wouldn't turn on or off, nothing happened when I rebooted. I spent 35 minutes on the telephone to a very nice Indian gentleman.......finally the box rebooted one time and it was working. Technician booked for Thursday because it is obviously not right. As soon as I got off the phone it stopped working again. I've been rebooting and rebooting and once got it going again but after a couple of minutes it went off.

I don't know whether to cry or scream. On balance, I think I'm going to cry.

So I've not been able to get much else done. Vacuumed through downstairs. And I'm going to miss Neighbours now. I know that's pathetic, but that's how I feel.

Grannynise - you must have been washing the floor with special organic water to help the grass grow. Well done :D

Hi all, have been watching this thread for a while and decided to join in, my house needs more organisation.

Anyway can anyone help re dusty radiators. I have the heating on today (to try and dry washing - I live in Scotland and its chucking it down) and all I can smell is the dust behind them. I have brushed out as much as I can with hoover/feather duster but they still smell dusty.

Can anyone give me anyideas on how to clean behind them properly (the space is tiny!) and what I can do to make them smell nicer?

    Thanks in advance

    Sarah
