  • Thanks for that :T

If only girlfriends would settle for bread and dripping or a cuppa and a piece of cake :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ours is the drop in house so its like feeding time at the zoo. Even when they say they will not be in for dinner they still manage to walk through the door when I am plating up and bring someone home with them. Decided to change their minds and come home instead without letting me know. What do they have mobiles for

You are being very generous with £20 but I think that is realistic ta

Just reporting in at the end of my month. As always went over budget although I was aiming for a pretty tight amount. In the end I spent just shy of £170 when my aim was £150. I need to learn to stay out of supermarkets I think. I'm going to have a good think about July and re-make a few resolutions. BUT to end on a bright note, last June I spent £430 on grocery shopping   including £130 at M&S (those darn salads I'm guessing) so I am definitely doing better this year!

Onwards and downwards for July :)

My last shop of the month today; spent £10.36 which puts me over budget but I'm still really pleased with my monthly total spend. When I think back to the mindless spending and all the !!!!!! that I used to throw into my trolley, I could positively glow with self-righteousness :rotfl:

I've started keeping a close check on what I spend on petrol and other things too, and also working out how much utilities cost me each month - I'll be trying to reduce all these in the coming months.

I WILL get control of my money, I WILL!! ;)

    Hi

Reporting at the end of the month. Well as you can see by my sig i went way over. This was my first month so was a bit of a guess and i did include everything from beers to tobbaco. Next month i will have budgeted for the beers/fags so it will just be for food/toilitries/cleaning products etc. The total will be(Drum roll)....You will have to wait until the 1st to find that out:rotfl:

This has been great fun for me and it is surprising how much i spent and i cannot wait until the July challenge.

    Enjoyed it thank you..

£14.98 spent, some flog offs aswell as the packed lunch things etc I went in for, quite pleased with what I got for the money, oh and they were giving away 2 free loo rolls if you spent over £3 (local Sainsburys) which I thought was rather weird but don't mind anything free :)

Fingers crossed still on target. Oh and I am pleased I didn't go over £20 as I'd left my purse at home :o
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200

Well it's the last day of my month and I've spent a total of £36.94. I'm round my parents as it stands so I won't be spending anymore for this month. I think it's amazing I managed it. I wouldn't've if I hadn't had so much veg in the freezer :rotfl: . I'm going to do the same for July and see if I can do it again.

Hi, Im new to this thread but would like to join in, if thats okay:)
Im going to set myself a budget of 250 for the month for 3 adults and a 4 yr old. One of the adults is our 18 yr old son who is a really fussy total carnivore and costs me a fortune in meat.
Anyway £250 or under is my target.
    Thanks
    Kerry:)

Welcome Kezz. Do you know how much you've been spending on average per month? Its a good idea to cut spending a little at a time so dont be too drastic!

The thing that's helped me most with cutting spending and waste, is meal planning - I do mine weekly and shop just once a week.

    Good luck!

Edited to say - Sorry Kezz, there is a July grocery challenge that just started so come along and join in on that one - didnt realise I was replying to the June!!
