On Flylady board they suggested using white vinegar. I poured some into washing machine and ran a hot wash. I also use it some days instead of conditioner to keep machine descaled. New on here so hope I am replying ok0 -
Thanks Irish. How much do you put in, and when you say a "Hot wash" is that 50' or 60'? Sorry to be so pedantic, but it's built into my DNA (Do Not Ask :rotfl:) Also if you wash clothes with WV instead of conditioner doesn't it make the clothes smell of vinegar. I have visions of me going into our local convenience store, and at the checkout some ladies saying "get 'im, if we 'ad some salt we could fry up some chips, if we 'ad chips! :cheesy:
Hi, I used to use Vinegar as fabric softener and you really can't smell the vinegar at all. I know you would think you would.
The only reason I don't use it now is because I stopped buying fabric softener years ago as I always did think it was a waste of money, could never tell the difference.
Then after reading on here about vinegar I gave it a try and still couldn't tell any difference.0 -

Well..am now at the end of my challenge (well..I will be on Wednesday..don't need to get anything extra before then.) Have menu planned & done a price check on Mr T online before going to Tesco today (with my list!!)...spent £57.42 - but this does include some b'day cards & popcorn treat for DSs tomorrow (whilst watching Dr Who!!) Was very pleased with this...normally spend £80+ and I really didn't seem to have much less in the trolley!!:j
Overall, I am overbudget (AGAIN!!!) by £54.34. However, I've still got 11 tins of beans, 2 tins of SMA Progress, loads of loo rolls, box of non-bio washing powder etc, left over from my badly planned Mr T delivery to go into next month, so that should be a big help!! Oh well...roll on July's challenge!!!
Best of luck everyone, hope you're all doing better than me!!!!:rolleyes:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

It was all going so well. I must keep out of shops, especially pet shops, can't seem to resist spoiling the dogs! One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I'm not including the pets food in my challenge! The guinea pigs eat far too much hay.
DH went to Asda today and spent £34.59 which isn't bad. But I did forget to tell him to buy Asda cream crackers so he's bought Jacobs which cost more. Trying to cut right back now as we are over budget and still have until next saturday to get through to.
Going to try and keep it to £300 plus the the £59.10 holiday food spends. So £359.10 in total. Next week I have a £25.49 veg and fruit box so have only £20 for supermarket.Grocery challenge July £250

I did used to have a seperate budget for animals and us but put them both together when I started on here, aswell as the lizard who has his live food and a small share of the veg, taking on another dog this week (making 3) who is big has kind of been an extra aswell I suppose, it's the treats I am bad for, must kerb it a little as it's also taking up a big bin for the food and a cupboard packed full of treats
but they are all my babies.
I'm still under budget but have a little while to go so will be meal planning and trying to work from what we have in etc, with 2 freezers full this shouldn't be hard! Just need to resist, it's much easier for me just to not enter a shop or walk past one as I do ok then:rotfl: but once I get in there, ooo the temptation!

as well as the lizard who has his live food and a small share of the veg
Went down to local convenience store (prices not very convenient) for W/E veggies and spent £4.61. So going to be a bit over budget, maybe, as there is still 7 days to go.
DS3 back from the State so everything is back to normal.
What's "Normal" ? Answer - Me trying to keep the bailiffs at bay0 -
I've been so impressed and inspired by what I've read here that I'm definitely going to try this. Even keeping and totting up ALL the receipts will be an eye-opener for me I think. Thanks0
