  • well i decided that i have 5 days left of this challenge and all i need is a few bits of fruit and veg.

Decided that i would move my money around a bit as i saw i could still get £20 off Mr T's if i could get the shopping over £150 knowing i oly have 19 days of july to pay for as we then go on our holiday and most of the meals are already covered i thought i best make the most of it, so instead of popping to shops and being naughty as i always buy more i have gone online and got everything i needs ready for the holiday all the lunch box stuff lots of bogof that i will need and the fruit and veg etc that i need this week. Will be arriving tomorrow pm. Came to £180 with delivery but off of that i have to take off £20 voucher and about £15 to 20 in offers. Gonna put most of this as julys spend when the challenge starts in a few days.

Do feel a bit bad about spending it but its cos my money clock is not set to july yet so i feel gulity for spending so much in june lol but i know what i got will last me well and i am so proud of coming in way under budget £85.37 under my target which is actually £165+ ish to my normally monthly shop before i joined here,

:T THANK YOU all so much for your support i am actually sitting her with tears in my eyes cos without you lot i would never of been able to do it. You gave me the kick up the bumi needed to see what i was doing and sort it out:T

Cant say how the next few months will go but i am gonna try hard cos i done it once now.
    Still Trying :o

Angel, you're a mathematical genius, I couldn't have done it better meself. However if you are going out for meals during your hols then maybe, just maybe, you could include something for that over and above your £222. Only a suggestion mind :D.

Only 5 days to go, and do you know I might just make it. Haven't spent anything today but will need some veggies for tomorrow and then later for the weekend. So keeping fingers, toes etc. crossed, then maybe :j.

Thanks :p my theory is 19 days at home 15 days away so if i take away the £222 from the £350 i had i am left with approx £140 for july to spend on my hols towards meals out we are self catering for 2 weeks but we are also with a lot of family while we are there so thta should help keep the bills down too.
I also have about 5 days of august so i am just gonna round it to £150 to take with us then see how much we spend or that august gives us as long as i dont go over in july.

cor that all seems long winded :rotfl:

Been doing this just two weeks and saved £20 which is going into a small account I have tomorrow as I dont want it tempting me here at home. I have become aware of my spending and now only buy what I need so no food thrown out now much to the relief of my other half as he does hate waste. Popped into my local co-op store tonight before they closed to buy bread and walked out with a ready cooked chicken, large crusty loaf and large filled baguette. Total £1.64. Cannot count this as savings as I only went in for bread which was reduced from 99p to 30p. Help:eek: I've turned into my mother in law who has taken items from my shopping trolly because she thought I could buy it cheaper elsewhere. She could work out if it cost over half a crown which used to annoy me but she died with a few bob put away. I do love this site and thank you all for your advice

    Debt-free and Proud!
First month nearly over and I may just make my target, only bread and a few veggies with the £10.15 left. This is a saving of at least £114.80 on last month plus all those trips to the corner store/greengrocer that I didn't have receipts for. So thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement. :j

And another thanks from me for all the support too... I've amazed myself by coming in under what I felt was a tight budget (after the bad start and not finding this thread until well into June).

So thanks to you all and keep up the good work, everyone... see you all in the July thread :D
