Went to tesco today and picked up the months baking supplies:), spent £32. This included stuff for puddings and tinned fruit.

I have had a shifty around the various supermarkets websites looking for the current offers and writing them down so I know what I will be buying in the next week. Should make some decent savings:)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Count me in this month! Got heavy dental costs so must pennypinch in as many places as I can. Only 2 of us, a cat and dd who visits on weekends. Allowing £40 a week £160 for the month but hoping to spend less.

Today spent £9.30 - £3 at poundland (t bags, oj and dried milk powder) and £6.30 at farmers market (eggs, tangerines and asparagus) Hopefully will have potatoes, spinach, herbs and strawberries from the garden soon. Also have some bits in the freezers to use up.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I've never done this either, so I'll start with £200 for June I think. Family of 4 (OH with big love of food)!

Hi, I would love to join in this month!

Just me and the dog (ex husband pays for his food) and boyfriend a couple of nights a week to feed.

Am going to aim for a total spend of £80 for the month which includes cleaning products and toiletries.

Fingers crossed I can do it!

Shortie, nothing wrong with adding what you'll use next month to next months challenge, I do this regularly, I add what I spend over if it'll last me into the following month on the next months. Like the spending already was actually for June but spent in May, so it's on June challenge total.

Have always said if you can afford to buy extra, it's silly to miss a bargain to stick to a budget.

Welcome to those recently joined and good luck.
One day I might be more organised...........

Spent £69.55 in Asda today

I never usually take the children shopping but had to today - and spent alot of time preventing stuff going in the trolley. Bought few things for holiday that I don't usually like crisps and cakes, and wine.

    Also testing my signature:)

Well, have been shopping today - spent £87.38 at Morrisons and £17.92 at Boots - this was on DD's nappies (3 for 2) so have now got AT LEAST a month's supply of nappies!!!

The cupboards are full..as is the fridge!! The Morrisons shop included loads of extra fresh fruit etc (DD is weaning now...I don't enjoy this stage AT ALL!!!) and a few jars of baby food, stuff for packed lunches, all meals for the week etc. In the past week we also spent £4.54 on bread and milk (my freezer isn't big enough to store that much!) We seem to spend loads on just bread & milk....DSs don't really drink squash - only drink milk & water:T

Anyhow..that leaves £210.16 for the rest of the month. I do have some tesco vouchers to use, and also received an email from them offering me £10 off a £100 shop (I haven't used their delivery service for a while.) Am debating whether it's a good idea to use it or not.... as it will take my remaining budget down considerably, and we're only just into June!!!!!! Any thoughts????

Can't really comment on whether you should use the voucher now or not as don't really know your situation but I'll say something that's probably said many times on this board:

It's not money off if you have to over-spend to earn it!
Starting early before it all gets out of control!

  • Thanks for everyone's support and encouragement... I've had a great time in Tesco's tonight, genuinely got a rush from it.. how sad! I did not buy one thing that wasn't on my list (and put the money from BOGOFs straight in my mortgage pig when I got home!) Somehow being in the moneysaving frame of mind I managed to spend LESS than I usually would for a weekly shop even though I was doing a two week shop! I always carefully plan my menus, but usually for just one week and cook everything fresh, but this time, I did a two week plan - the second week made up of leftovers I'll freeze this week. So next week I should only need to buy some fruit (which I love so can't go without). It's going to be a good month... I can feel it in my waters!

    :D:D:D THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP AND ENCOURAGEMENT... WOOP!!:D :D:D

Bargain of the day - I always use Sensodyne Proenamel because it's amazing... but I discovered today that not only do Tesco do their own version, but it was BOGOF so instead of £2.99 for 75ml of the posh stuff it was £1.99 for two 100ml tubes own brand... don't know if it's any good yet but I reckon it's worth a punt!

I get a kick out of doing the shop as well :-) I have trained myself to just stick to the list, and I feel like I'm "beating the system" by not giving in to their temptations lol. A bit of the old rebellion rising up in me lol
