Mine were out in the garden all morning too, when DD napped this aft DS crafted (well, made stacks of paper aeroplanes, his latest obsession) & watched Fimbles (I do vaguely remember it btw, "when you take a look, inside a book..."
) I think I'm going to be happy if they spend the mornings outside/playing and the afternoons watching DVDs, seems a decent compromise
Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
I think that's a good compromise, it's difficult to keep them outside all day, especially in this heat! Mine have had a great day playing in their paddling pool again, it's my star buy at the moment:D
My mum came round to visit today armed with a bag full of sweet treats for the kids, I will have to hide them away and ration them, I won't eat them honestI was hoping to have a NSD today but I took dd1 into town and we went to the school shop to get some more of her uniform, I came home £50 lighter  I did manage to get some shin pads and a gum shield in $port$ direct which were quite a bit cheaper than the school shop. I still need to get her shoes, socks, trainers x 2 and 2 school bags  we also had a little treat in the local ice cream parlour..was very yummy
I may have also brought a few soft furnishings in home barg@ins, and a new door mat...in my defence they are very cute, and have owls on
After saying I'd had a LSD yesterday I discovered that boots are having a sale on so I have ordered a couple of Christmas presents, some playmobil for dd2 and Lego for Ds :T I really feel like I'm not in control of my money at the moment. Dh and I haven't updated our spreadsheets for ages so I have no idea how much we have in our funds which is a scary feeling:eek: I check the bank every day so I know kind of what's going on but I really need to get back in control.
I'm enjoying the commonwealth games tonight

Pass the sweets Crumpets, we need the sugar more than the kids do
Your uniform sitch sound pretty fierce! I'm glad DS' school are pretty relaxed. My school was one where you had to have the right colour monogram on your tie for your house colours & specific knickers, it drove my mum mad
Thanks for the heads up on the Boots sale, just been on & the talking Toy Story Woody that DS wants for his upcoming birthday is reduced but out of stockThink I'll keep checking in & see if it comes back :money:

Yep the uniform is pretty extreme, it's because she's moving up to middle school. She's only there for 3 years and then onto high school:eek: I hope most of it will last the whole time she's there, unless she has a major growth spurt! She's almost as tall as me already though
I've been really struggling today, I think the heat has finally got to me. I feel exhausted and the kids have been driving me potty. I have done next to nothing all day and that makes me feel even worse...my head is willing but my body isn't. I really need a couple of hours off from the children and the house to re charge my batteries. I have politely asked dh if he will take the children out one of the days next week so I can have a break.
As I haven't done much today it's been a LSD, I just popped to the post office earlier and that was it. I may have treated myself to a kitkat chunky whilst there  dd1 went to a friends today which took the pressure off a bit and dd2 and Ds are very good together, we've just had a few squabbles, but they'd seem unable to do anything without me...it's exhausting! We did make some fairy cakes though so at least I have done something worthwhile with them todayI'm very much looking forward to bed time tonight. Week one of the holidays completed though so yay, only 5 more to go
My b00ts order has arrived in store ready for me to collect so I will do that tomorrow, I need to find a new hiding place for my Christmas stash, especially now dd1 is getting older, I don't want her rummaging and finding stuff, she is awful at keeping a secret too.
Not much else to report, hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow, I'm working in my friends shop in the afternoon so that will be another op next week. I think this will be my best month this year for Op's can't wait to add it all upMortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Oh Crumpets you have my sympathy, sounds like today has been your version of my yesterday
. I think it takes a while to ease into the school hols [STRIKE]or at least that's what I'm telling myself to stop myself from going [/STRIKE]
Well done on the chunky KitKat, richly deserved. And well done on the fairy cakes, the only thing I achieved yesterday was a sore throat from all the telling off
As I say most evenings: tomorrow is another day :beer:Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
I'm feeling on much better form today thank goodness, also it's a lot cooler which is helping. It was an early start for me today as I had to take dd1 to the train station as she is off to visit her relatives for a few days, so it will be very quiet without her here.
I've done a bit more Christmas shopping today, I have ordered an Anna and an Elsa dress from a Chinese site I've seen recommended on mumsnet. It feels like a bit of a risk ordering from this unknown site but if they arrive and are nice I will have got a real bargain, about £13 for both including shipping. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan :money: in other MS news dh has had to phone CPP for another claim form as we have mislaid parts of the letter as it's been hanging around for so long  it has to submitted by the end of August so hopefully we'll get it in time.
I checked my mortgage balance and despite having my best month so far of OPing it doesn't seem any different to what it was last month, because of the interest being added on. It's really demoralisingI really wanted to see it under 112k before Augusts payments go out, but never mind, I'll get there eventually.
This afternoon dh is taking the little ones to a bbq so I need to pop to te$co and get a contribution, I can pick up my order from b00ts at the same time. I'm quite pleased about my Christmas shopping so far :T
An afternoon/ evening of serving sweets for me

Crumpets is it the letter or form you are missing for cpp ? I may be able to help you if it's the letter as I can scan mine over.Mortgage value was £135,000 now £43,218

Very envious of your Xmas shopping, I wish I was as organised Crumpets! Hope the bbq goes well0

Hi Crumpets, I'll have a bag of aniseed balls & some liquorice allsorts please
Hope the shift was good. Sorry you're demoralised over the OPs. I'm almost glad Skippers don't give me very much info on my account, when I log in it pretty much just says "hello, you have a mortgage" :rotfl:. So I'm kept in the dark for my own good! Just think you'd be paying so much more interest if you weren't OPing
Hope DD1 has a good time & you get a tiny bit of (relative) peace! Well done on your Xmas shopping, I've got a couple of stocking fillers too, makes sense when you see things xxLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
Hi, your life sounds so familiar to me! My youngest of 3 starts school this year and I'm hoping that I can accomplish some of what you can, and you have kids at home still. We're not Overpaying our mortgage at the minute, but I really like all your money saving ways so I have subscribed.
Look forward to learning from you, I've really enjoyed reading your diary so far.Fashion on a ration 0 of 660
