  • Go DD2! :T Moments like that make you so proud don't they? :o

The random plant is bizarre! I was just reading about similar mysteries [STRIKE]on Mumsnet[/STRIKE] ;) & it is astonishing what turns up with no explanation - money posted through letter boxes, cakes left on driveways - madness!

Hope the river festival was nice, it sounds lovely :)

Hello, we're on the final week before the school holidays  I need to get a few ideas jotted down of cheap/free activities to do with the kids. I usually book dd1 onto a drama and craft workshop but other than that I haven't thought about it much. A friend has suggested that we take it in turns to organise an activity once a week (mainly for toddlers ) I hope the weather stays nice as I don't think I'll cope very well if it's wet.

My new organising calendar and organiser came today and it looks amazing, it even comes with stickers :p can't wait to start using it next month

Yesterday we had a bit of a spontaneous moment and we booked tickets for a music festival in Cornwall :D it cost £150 for 2 nights camping for the 5 of us, which is pretty reasonable for a festival. It will be the first one I've ever taken the kids to so who knows what it will be like. We're going with another family so I'm sure we'll have a great time :D:cool:

I had a few expensive payments to make today, I had to pay the school £25 for their termly fee and £21 on a sealed bid auction prize that I won (proceeds go towards our relay team) I also owe the school PTA £6  argh money is leaving me left, right and centre! I'm definitely hoping to have a NSD tomorrow.

ETA: we had some good news today regarding dh's health and the treatment he was having last year, so we're celebrating with a bottle of fizz

Thanks Beckyy and RT, our celebrations didn't quite go to plan so we are rescheduling for another night :D

Have a lovely holiday RT, I love Cornwall, dh and I got married down there, where about are you going?

I managed a LSD today, just postage for an eBay parcel, I haven't been doing well at all on there lately. I must have run out of good stuff to sell, I think it might be time for a car boot sale, we may do one this weekend if nothing else crops up.

Tomorrow it is the preschool trip to the farm, it costs £10 for coach and admission which I though was a bit expensive as there would be 3 of us going, so I have compromised and dd2 is going on the coach to get that experience and I will drive Ds there so he can enjoy the farm. I really couldn't justify spending £30 on the trip though as I could have put that money towards something for all 5 of us to do.

Chicken kebabs for dinner tonight which was a hit with the children :T I'm going to start keeping a spread sheet of successful meals as most of the things I cook don't go down very well. I was going to make pitta bread but when I came to make them I didn't have any yeast. It's on my shopping list for next week now, I've never made them before.

    Time for a :coffee: now

  • We're staying near Indian Queens Crumpets, going to spend time on the north coast other than one trip to Portloe which is my most fave place in the world *ever*. Where did you get married? Oh how romantic, it's like something out of a Mary Wesley novel [sigh]

It wasn't quite like that, we got married in Penzance registry office :rotfl: we did have our gorgeous photos taken on the beach at Marazion with St Michaels Mount in the background. It was lovely

I haven't been to Portloe before, it's nice to have new places to go as I feel I always do the same thing and go to the same places When I'm in Cornwall. There are still lots of places to explore down there. Now if only I could persuade dh to get that camper van! :D

An exhausting day was had at the farm yesterday, and I ended up going on the coach in the end so I need to pay the extra £20 that I wasn't planning on spending. It was one of those days when I wished I had stayed at home. Ds was very over tired and wanted to be picked up all the time, he had several full on melt downs and I hardly got to see dd who was looked after by a pre school teacher:( I should have gone with my gut instinct about not taking Ds but I had that awful mothers guilt:cool: lesson learned

Inspired by some other threads I've been reading I'm going to start posting my to do list in order to get my bum in go gear, so for today I will
    • Washing on the line to dry
    • Go and get teacher presents
    • Return door bell to homeb@se
    • Start on mt Everest filing pile
    • Paint woodwork in porch
    • Make fish pie for dinner (that only I like) :o
    • Check banks
    • Plant random conifer in front garden
    • pay cheques in

That will do for now :D

We had to pay for the porch yesterday  so our savings have taken quite a battering. It ended up costing us about £1000 more than we had planned  dh and I need to sit down and go through our finances now to see where we're at. It will probably mean we have to wait to get out living room floor replaced but I can cope with that. I really want to have a break from doing house projects now, it feels like it's been non stop since we moved in.

I'm off out tonight for an end of term drink so i will try not to spend more than £20, and I must not drink too much as I will be having an emotional day tomorrow as we have leaving ceremonies for both dd's at their schools:(
