Hi Thistlewhistle (loving the name, I used to love the family Ness:D) of course not, the more the merrier I say! Have you got a diary?
Yesterday I went to the big city yesterday which I hadn't done for absolutely ages and it went to my head a bit:o we got the party supplies that we needed mainly from £land. We decided instead of party bags we would give each child a book and £land had the most perfect fairytale books:T we also got lots of decorations etc so I'm feeling a lot more organised now. We than had a little mooch around the shops (as you do) and ended up buying lots of clothes for the children as well as some mittens for myself:o
Today my parents came over to help is do something on the house and I made some lovely leek and potato soup in my soup maker:smileyhea followed by pear and blackberry crumble from the freezer, was very yum. Dh then took the kids to the library and I had a couple of hours listening to my music and sewing dd1s quilt, it was heaven, especially as the children had been more than a handful this morning! i've not got much to do on the quilt now but only 11 days until her birthday so it's touch and go.
It's FLW on eBay this weekend so I listed 7 things today, I might try and get a couple of other things listed tomorrow if I get the time. I also want to try and sell a few toys on FB and also ds's highchair as he has now progressed to a booster seat:T
Tomorrow we are off to mil's for Sunday lunch so should be a nsd:T

I tend to do books for party bags - have done since DS1 (almost 14) was about 7, I think - I buy packs from the bookpeople just for that purpose! :)I think it's nicer than all the bits of plastic which tend to get lost/ broken/ discarded after 10 minutes and doesn't cost any more when you add all those bits up!
Re ebay - what I do if I've not got time t list properly is list some 'blank' auctions - say 6-10 saying the same thing - Title is TBA, details are 'tba - just listing for FLW' with a photo of something nondescript (I use a flower) and set them all at a starting price of £25 (covers most things for me, unless I know I have something expensive to list) . That gets the listings on for free and Monday (or whenever) I change them to the correct details. If you do the one listing like that and then just 'sell another like this one' however many times for the first tme you do it. I have several unused ones in my unsold account and just relist these each time now if I need to - takes me literally 2 minutes if the weekend is busy and then I can properly edit the listings at no cost when not so rushedI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Thanks for the tip Greent, I would never have thought of that, I didn't manage to do it this time so will remember for next time:T
Yesterday we went to mil's for a lovely roast dinner, unfortunately the kids weren't on their best behaviour so they weren't allowed their dessert. Mil gave it us to bring home instead and I'm very grateful it's a banoffee pie as I won't be eating it...yuk. At least dh will get a look in this time:rotfl: I also was given a huge bag of fabric from dh grandma:T dd2 has requested bunting and dd1 wants to try and make a skirt, it will hopefully be a hobby that we can share. Hopefully I'll have some to finish of the quilt with too:T unfortunately when we got home I started feeling poorly so I ended up going to bed at the same time as the kids and I've spent today in bed or lying on the sofa, luckily dh could work fom home today as I've felt rubbish. I was supposed to go to a baby shower this morning and was really disappointed at not being able to go:( at least it's been a nsd:T
Tomorrow we are hoping to order our porch, we have the sales woman coming round to go through our choice of doors and hopefully we can put in our order:T
I went grocery shopping to aldi yesterdy and was way over budget again, is it me or is aldi getting more expensive? I did have dd1 with me which may explain it though:rotfl: eBay is very quiet, only a few watchers but still a while to go, if I'm feeling better tomorrow I will hopefully get a few things for sale on FB.

Hi,
Hope you don't mind me popping by and saying hello! I'm a WMFW (Wannabe Mortgage Free Wannabe) currently waiting for a house we have fallen in love with to be advertised/listed so we can buy it and hopefully be mortgage free in ~10 years (or so is the plan)!!
I've been a lurker for years, starting my own diary and then getting 'busy' or married or something :rotfl: and going underground for months (years) at a time - however reading the diaries of some on here atm whilst slightly incapacitated (yours included) really helps with the inspiration to try and keep saving hard (for the deposit for now, mortgage op's hopefully soon) - my mind boggles when i read some of the diaries on here and the sheer amount of activities/chores/family life/work life/cooking and MSE things that people manage to achieve - and i feel slightly lacking.....i work full time, stressful job of 60+ hours a week and have two dogs to walk (lol) but my schedule slightly seems to pale into the background when i read your diary Mrs Crumpet!!
Amazingly well done so far on the OP's and juggling your very hectic family life with trying to achieve your MF goal - best of luck for this year! I have subscribed so likely to be a serial lurker, even occasional commenter if you are lucky

Hope you're feeling better, Crumpets. Loads of people seem to have been taken out over the past week, there must be something in the air.
Plans for the fabric sound greata penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -
Hello Janine and thank you for your kind words, my life doesn't feel that hectic at times but at others it's non stop, I certainly couldn't do what I do if I worked full time too, hats off to people that do both I don't know how they manage it. Good luck with your future house, I hope you don't have to wait to long for your dream house, I'm very impatient so not good with waiting:cool: I hope you pop by again and comment as much as you like:D
I'm feeling a little bit better today, I've been out and about doing normal stuff but it's wiped me out now so I'll be off to bed soon.
A few MFW things have happened over the past few days so I'm just going to list them before I forget them- Changed broadband deal with BT so should save about £15 a month
- Received compensation cheque from Royal mail over missing eBay item - it was for £23.00 so about £6 short but better than nothing:T
- Dh received a cheque for £100 from a client for christmas, he doesn't charge her for work done so she sends a gift a Christmas.
- Sold the rest of our kitchen units for £35 - they're being collected on Sunday morning
Today dh and I had a rare morning out together (with Ds in tow) so we treated ourself to coffee and a cake in costa, it cost £10:eek: but it was nice to just sit and chat as Ds was asleep. I also had to buy a few things for dd2 birthday party on Sunday as well as getting wrapping paper etc I have also ordered a new microwave from bhs with 20% off and TCB :T
This weekend is going to be very very hectic, dd1 is having her birthday sleep over on Saturday and I have booked them in to do pottery on Saturday afternoon, then we'll have pizza and a movie on the evening, then the kitchen is being collected Sunday morning and then I have to do party food without a kitchen:eek: I'm looking forward to bed time on Sunday already!

Evening, it's been a crazy busy day again today, I went to my friends to have a cuppa and collect bunting for the party, then Ds and I went to tesco to buy the food supplies so I'm feeling quite organised as far as that goes.
The rest of the day has been spent packing up kitchen cupboards and setting myself up with a little pantry in the living room, there still seems like so much to do before sunday:eek:
I made some lovely cauliflower cheese soup today using the last of the cheese bits from Christmas and some frozen cauliflower, it was really really nice and must have cost pennies to make:T I'm still loving my soup maker
I sold my dishwasher on eBay today and made the grand total of 0.99p:rotfl: it is pretty ancient and it came with the house when we moved in so I'm not too bothered, it's better than it ending up in land fill, it's being collected on Sunday morning too:T
I'm still feeling a bit poorly and wiped out, I really need a holiday or even a day of resting but there always seems to be something going on, ah well only 41/2 months to wait, it will soon come round:rotfl:

Wow! That was a crazy weekend, I really don't want another one like that for a while, bizarre things I did included cleaning clay off everybodies clothing, painting a pumpkin blue, making tiny parcels to put dried peas in, made crown shaped sandwiches for the party and then dh and I ate the 'edges' for our tea:rotfl::eek: all for the love of our children and making sure they had a fantastic party. Dd2 came home with an enormous pile of presents for us to find new homes for  Thank goodness most of the celebrations are over now, although their birthday isn't until Wednesday but that will be a quiet and pretty normal day. I feel like I've been spending money all over the place, most of it cash and I have no idea where it's gone:eek:
So we now have no kitchen as the eBayer came to collect the rest of the cabinets, sink, oven etc yesterday morning:T the kitchen fitter isn't starting until Wednesday and the new kitchen is being delivered early next week so we're going to be living off microwave food for a while:eek: we did quite well tonight though, Chinese style pork with egg fried rice using microwave rice and left over roast pork:T tomorrow will be pork and stuffing baps using the rest of the pork and stuffing from the freezer, the dd's are so fussy though, they probably won't eat it:(
Went into a nearby town today to look in John Lewis at the light fittings, they didn't have what we wanted in stock so need to order online. Met my mum though who treated us to a cup of tea:D
Tomorrow I'm having my hair cut for the first time since September, I used to have my hair cut every 6/7 weeks and wondered why it wouldn't grow, since i decided to cut down on trips to the hairdresser my hair has got lovely and long:T an added bonus to being frugal:rotfl: dd1 is also getting her birthday treat of getting her ears pierced, she's been wanting them done for years and I've finally given in:cool:
