PMS Challenge - June 2007

I'm in again this month please. We're now drooling over Canada brochures and have got the go ahead from both my Employer and the small person's school to go ahead [one week of it will be during term time] so am very motivated. Have my friend's 40th which is a one off expense and my sister's birthday to account for. Made £157 in May but I think £15+ will be more realistic for June as won't be getting an unexpected bonus and I'm planning to have a minor spend at the Wimborne folk festival which is my late 40th birthday jolly. Will keep an update in my sig.

:hello: Hiya and welcome to our newcomers :hello:
I've found and almost paid for my new-to-me car :j Now it would seem that the tax rate for it is going to be cheaper than I currently pay. Can't be certain until Friday when I collect it, but if the man was right, could be in for a nice lump for my PMS Pot
In addition, by paying with my Tesco Visa, should net me a nice sum in Tesco Vouchers (and as I'll be using them for Tesco Deals ... :j :j :j ) Won't know the final figure I've managed to save on the car until Friday, but ... watch this space  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PMS Pot: £57.53 Pigsback Pot: £23.00

It's become the love of my life

Okay, I've just [STRIKE]researched[/STRIKE] googled and it seems the man was right! :j :j :j It will only be THIRTY FIVE POUNDS per year road tax!!! :T :T
Here's the article I've just read: http://environment.guardian.co.uk/travel/story/0,,2046863,00.html
As it will fall in Band 'B' ( research reference: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/car-buyers-guide/cbg_roadtax.html ) it also meansfrom_the_2nd_link wrote:Buyers should be aware that all band B cars will be exempt from the London congestion charge when the charging regime changes next year
Now, driving into the capital has been a no no for me since the congestion charge came into play, but I now know that I will be exempt from that too and can now take the lads up there without any worries :j :j
I'm lurving this car more and more ... I think I'll marry it

Just counted up my spare change tin which is the last time I will until we go away. I've been putting shopping change, left overs from shopping purse, few little savings etc in. £425
really chuffed.
Queenie good luck with the new car, I pay £180 a year but they are older cars so not too bad I suppose
One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

:rotfl: Sorry lil_me I imagined a baked bean can sized tin when I started reading that and then read the amount you saved in it (fanstastic amount btw) and suddenly imagine a HUGE cooking oil drum sized 'tin' :rotfl:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
I may well be on to a winner already for June PMS:)
I had a letter through yesterday morning from National Insurance Contributions. Apparently because I get carers allowance for my disabled son, that already pays a credit towards my NI, therefore I should be getting the NI i have already paid since last september back:) i think maybe about 40 ish pounds?
If that is the case that will be a really good start for June:T
Will update as soon as I know for sure!:DNovember NSD's - 70
