Are some mothers really so stupid?

By leaving her baby downstairs she is almost relying on perfect strangers to react in case anything happens or she's almost trusting people she doesnt know not to kidnap her child. Unlikely on a bus but who knows?! The doors could open, someone could wheel the pram out and be gone as the bus pulls away, she'd have no idea on the top deck.
My Mum said people used to always do this in her daybut hey ho, times move on and I certainly wouldnt do it, be that neurotic or whatever.

I must be dim....... but really cant see how fellow passengers offering a mother help by saying" you know what? dont you worry about leaving your sleeping baby here downstairs while you take your other 2 upstairs, we will be quite happy to look after your child for you...... is going to help????? for those who dont think anything of leaving a young defenseless child with complete strangers well thats obviously your opinion/ choice I would never consider taking a risk like that, at the end of the day this is not about fellow passengers feeling the need to muck in and assist a mother in need??? that would be "Oh I see you have shopping bags 2 kids and a buggy can we perhaps help you".......... this is about a mother who wants to leave her baby downstairs unattended while taking her older kids upstairs because the are whinging and that I'm sorry to say is IRRESPONSIBLE!LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT0
