Erm, I'm guessing from all the SORN comments between NIM and I neither of us told you all that he GOT THE JOB! Starts on the 19th November, it's a little over an hour's drive away, but it's a decent wage so things should be better, and even if I loose my job we'll still roughly make ends meet.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
Yay that is great news!0

I've sat here all night stewing about my job, I just feel like they're trying to make it so miserable I quit, and I really want to, but I have to put up with being miserable because we need the money. I just feel like whatever I go in to do tomorrow will be wrong and my boss will get angry as a result.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Great news about NIM getting the job! :T Good of you to keep us all up to date, as usual!
With your job, you should really try to stick it out for as long as you can. If you think they're trying to make you so miserable you quit (and miss out on redundancy pay) don't let them win! If they're being nasty and super critical, be super nice and fake gratitude for their 'helpful' comments, it'll put them on the back foot. OH always says to me, 'Just play the game and act the part for 8 hours a day. It's just work, don't take it home with you and don't let them get to you'This is why neither of us are managers of course, but it helps keep stress levels down when you realise that we work to live, we don't live to work!
Anyway, what are we going to do about the home stress? Our comments have been brushed aside in NIM's job news but we worry about you and want to know that things are OK.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Good advise there from Birdie. Don't let them get you down.0

Great news on NIMs job! OH is being made redundant at the end of this month so he has been job hunting for the last few weeks, so demoralising when you don't hear back from things. We have mortgage insurance so will manage for a while if we need to but I'm really hoping it won't come to that. I was looking forward to a stress free Christmas this year!
Having said that... health is definitely the most important thing above all else. I saw my consultant again yesterday and he confirmed that everything is healing well from my operation last year and my smear come back clear - so whenever I feel down about the money situation I remind myself how lucky I am. Mental health is only different to physical health because you can't see it Dinah, so please do take care of yourself and ask for help wherever you can - heck if I lived closer I'd come and do some cleaning for you! xBarclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Aww super congrats to NIM!!! :j :j :j
Hugs for the hard times, Dinah. It's a horrible feeling when you have worked hard and just get knackered and want to give up. Still, look at all the things you have achieved since we've been nattering away together on this thread. From the initial NIM romanceto having a beautiful wedding and honeymoon, buying a lovely house and redoing it, to heading off to New York, to Grace being born. So much good
You have really had a tough few years and I really hope you can end the financial uncertainty soon. It is definitely tough waiting to hear about redundancy and I wish they weren't dragging it out for you all. Chin up though, you and NIM can manage if the worst happens, now he's got his new job. As tempting as it is to tell them to shove it, you'd be forfeiting redundancy money that you deserve. Don't give them the satisfaction! It's not good to be in a bad workplace for too long, but it's just a few weeks to Christmas, so be great to hang in there.
You should deffo jettison the housework, who needs a clean house when you've got a happy home. There'll always be a few days to tidy up during the Christmas break. Sometimes we need to let it all go and find pleasure in the small stuff, like nice dinners at home together even if they are interspersed with ebaying. You have come so close with the debt. That is fantastic news from your appointment Shrimpy, so happy things are looking good for you. Sorry to hear about your OH though.
I made it all the way into work and then had a call that Poppy has been sick so came all the way back again. She is now fast asleep on sofa poor thing.
Hope all is well with you too Lara.0
