Luckily not out of a job. I'm back in my old office the next few days clearing things out. Then 3 other branches want to offer me a job, so I'm off for almost a reverse interview. They'll tell me about their jobs and then I'll pick oneDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

I forgot to say in my post above, we were super MSE this weekend and cleaned my wedding dress (after 2 and a half years...), I'd been quoted £100 for dry cleaning but we decided to take a risk and threw it in a duvet cover, put it on a cool silk wash and it looks perfect (and smells of Lenor!) £100 saved and my dress looks good as new!Hope this gives some of our other brides a little hope after their day and they're worried about getting dresses cleaned!
Now be honest, did you sit and watch the washing machine waiting for it to finish? :rotfl: Glad the risk paid off, £100 to get it dry cleaned:eek:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Sorry to hear about your brand Beccie but good that you will get something else. Glad you had an amazing time in Africa.
Birdie - bless your OH nesting, so sweet! Good tip on the wedding dress too. Mine is fairly inexpensive for a wedding dress so seems a lot to get it properly cleaned.0 -
Oooh birdie I might risk it. Never had mine cleaned as the £100 has been putting me off, but the hem is muddy from tramping about on the moors so it really needs it.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Flower, we did pretty much sit and watch it I have to admit!
OH got really worried at one point as the dress was trying to escape the duvet cover (remember to fasten the buttons so this doesn't happen!!) but it worked its way back in and was fine.
Mine wasn't really dirty, just the odd grubby mark, so if you've got proper dirt on the dress it might be worth soaking it first? We just got to the point when we were talking about getting it cleaned so it can be put away 'properly' rather than hanging on the wardrobe door waiting to be sorted and I said that I'd read this tip on MSE about cleaning dresses and how I've thrown a load of delicate satin clothes in the washing machine before with no issues in the past, never mind washing on a delicate wash so why not give it a go? The worst it was going to do at that temperature was get it wet without removing the marks!
We've also thrown in about a dozen silica sachets and some little cedar blocks in the dress bag to keep the damp away!
I removed the brooch before washing (obviously) and it's so pretty and sparkly I'm going to start wearing it on other things!

Only thing i would say on your spends today is bbq food/drinks seems quite a lot. Not so bad though when you are using some for Grace's christening.OH's nesting continues... our hall cupboard is now my craft cupboard, it's amazing! What was a total dumping ground is now ridiculously ordered and everything crafty is stored in one place neatly and out of the way. Love it! Kind of want to live in there...
Over the week we've binned 10 big bags of rubbish, taken 8 bags to the charity shop and we've still got stuff to sort into sell/donate/bin piles.
Wonder what he'll do today?!
£140 is a lot for swimming lessons... can't you cancel and just take her swimming every week, if she decides she does like it and wasn't just having an off week?
We can stop going, but we won't get any money back. The kiddy pool at the leisure centre is a lot cooler than the hydrotherapy pool where the lessons are, and bless her last time we took her she was quite literally blue within 15 mins! In fairness I suppose I'm stressing about the cost but the pool is £3.80 each, and we go as a family so it's not a huge amount more for her to be getting tuition compared to two tickets. Still won't be spending it again though!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'll be honest I was shocked when NIM said that's how much he'd spent too, as I don't think there was that much for the money
Ah, well, there's the problem. Men always seem to spend twice as much as they should in supermarkets!Oooh he sounds like he's doing great, enjoy using your cupboard now, nice relaxing pregnancy activity, maybe stock up on some cards to use for the year after the birth? You won't want to put your LO down once they're here to craft, and probably won't be awake enough/have the time even if they're having a nap.
That's a great idea actually!I'll have to make a list of all of the cards I'll need for the year and get working on them.
Will be good for decluttering too if I'm using up my stash!
Guess what I'm doing tonight?!

I did think about the cost per lesson vs. cost for the family to swim just after posting that you should stop going TBH.Enjoy going to the lessons but just don't buy another course right now. And look for another swimming baths with a warm kiddy pool, most places I've been have quite warm kid's pools. I remember going to Richmond baths as a little'un and loving the children's pool there as it was like bath water!

Awww, bless her indeed! Maybe just give it some time and try again when she's a little older then? Stick to swimming in the bath for now!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

It's weird, there are smaller babies than her in the class (its very odd that they're trying to get babies to swim underwater when they cant even hold up their head) but none of the others seems to struggle with their heat like she does.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
