My friends little boy used to really struggle with getting cold in the pool but has got better as he is older.

Our kids swimming pool is lovely and like a bath.

Baby kavics struggled. She is a cold baby and was shivering after 10 min. We never managed a full class, it was the same as yours, £140 for a term. We didn't go for the last 2 sessions as she just screamed.

We are starting again next week but it's an outdoor pool and it's already 30 degrees here.

Great MSE there Birdie, I'm a sucker and paid £80 to have my dress cleaned. The hem was seriously black though. The price of the storage boxes was mental, I got a plain one off fleabay but even that cost a lot for what it was. That's so exciting about the big reorganisation. Craft cupboards are the best, we need pictures!

OH and I tried to put up the closet shelves and discovered they were completely bowed and wonky. So we got new timber and put up new batons yesterday. Now I just need to paint them and that job will finally be over. And I will post pictures then too :)

The good DIY news is that the electrician came and said the sketchy wiring is actually okay. Then he found loads of other problems we didn't know about, but managed to fix them all. So tomorrow OH is going to try to patch up the wall and then we will give tiling a try. I hope we don't manage to make a big mess of that :o

Welcome back Beccie :D Hope you find a job you like from the new branches.

Dinah - just wondering if you need anything more than cake for Grace's Christening party? I am sure you would make your usual beautiful bakes. Hope Grace enjoys her swims next time.

Wendz - 7 weeks to go, wow :j

    Hugs to all xx

Evening all! No posts for me today as Evie decided to skip her nap. I am wrecked as I got no break from them at all today! In fact she is so overtired now she refused to sleep so OH is rocking her up and down in her buggy. She is saying she wants to see 'Granny Murray' from 'Me Too' on Cbeebies! 20 months going on 20 that one!!!

We paid around £140 for Max for swimming lessons when he was about 3 months old. He seemed to enjoy them although I remember he had one dodgy week. It was a hydrotherapy pool too so nice and warm. One poor baby hated it and he dropped out after about 4 sessions, the poor pet. We would probably have continued doing them if we had stayed in Reading. Unfortunately the nearest pool to us now requires transport but as soon as we get our test we will be bringing both kiddies every Saturday or Sunday as their is a family hour. Poor Max is always asking to be taken to the pool. I feel bad for him :(

Wendz - Poppy will look seriously cute in that dress! But she is gorgeous anyway - loved the ITNG photo. She was enthralled :)

Lara - what a pain about all the extra DIY. I can't wait for the closet reveal though.

Birdie - how are you feeling? How many weeks are you?

I paid €150 to get my wedding dress cleaned and I paid about €40 for a box to contain it. OH's christening gown is in with it. It was expensive but I hope Evie or someone along the line might want to wear it on their own big day!

I'm feeling pretty good CMD! :) I'm about 5 weeks now... wishing away the next 7 weeks until my scan! :) Finally managed to have my blood taken yesterday, I've now got 9 needle marks on my arms! :o

If taking your kiddies swimming isn't a great incentive to pass your driving test, I don't know what is! How are the lessons going?

Looking forward to the closet reveal Lara (how sad are we?!), shame that the first shelves were no good though! I'll post a picture of my craft (and shoe! :o) closet but I don't think it'll look very impressive. It's no Glamour Closet. :p I'm getting worried about what OH is going to attack next... he was looking around the living room muttering to himself last night!

Really don't want to admit yesterdays spending diary, but I will because I need to keep a log of it. I'm afraid I don't know the pennies in some places, will update later today when the total shows up on online banking
£3.-- Post Office (ebay parcel and a 2nd class stamp for a letter to cancel Grace's DLA, while she *might* still be entitled to the middle rate I just want to cancel, I need to try to think of her as a normal toddler now)
£21.-- Tesco (Weekly shop including yogurts for Grace, cheese, 2x cards, pack of ham, the only non sensible thing spent here was the £1 on a bar of dark chocolate)
£34.28 Blackout blind for Grace's room to try to get her to go to sleep before 9.30 and wake after 6.
£21.70 56 paper cups for Christening and 96 plates. This was too much to pay. I shopped around for the cheapest deal online for some pretty ones, but if I'd got some plain white paper ones from Tesco/Boyes etc it would probably have been about £9 for the same number of plates and cups.
£31.98 Decorations for Christening (I'm hanging my head in shame by this point)
£13.75 75 sets of disposible cutlery
£25.15 Sweets for Christening (a mini candy bar planned like we had at our wedding to try to save time and money on making loads of cheesecakes, fruit salads etc on the day)
£2.25 pack of 100 BBQ skewers in Boyes. Couldn't have gotten these cheaper I don't think.
    Total for day: £154.11 :eek::eek::eek:

To try to balance that out with a bit more positivity I walked into town with Grace in the sling rather than taking the car. As she was in the sling I couldn't over-shop at Tesco as I had to carry it home. I went skating last night as usual, but I avoided buying a drink at the machine, and I stayed half an hour after my class as there is a public skate after my lesson and I can skate then for free rather than paying the £6.50ish to go on another day to practice. Gutted that they'll be ending the free session after the 25th as they're starting a teenagerish 11-25 class then (even more annoyed if I were 3 years younger I'd pay £6 for 6 lessons rather than £18.75 for 5)

Oh dear, I think you know where you went wrong there! :o In the past I've bought plain white/clear cups and decorated them myself for parties. :) Can't paint plates for obvious reasons, but at least the cups looked nice and unique! How about returning the fancy cups and having a painty day with Grace, you can get her to put her hand print on all cups or you could just draw her initial on them all if you want something that looks pretty? :) Couldn't you have resused some of the bunting from Grace's birthday for her Christening? What decorations have you bought? :)

Good stuff about squeezing in the free skate though! How are you getting on with your skating? :)

With the amount of work I've got on at the moment I don't have time for a painting day, not looking forward to fitting in working 3 days a week to working for dad and taking care of Grace and the house, feels like I'm a cartoon dog always running in circles and chasing my tail.

Absolutely loving the skating. It's something I've always wanted to do, and I used to be proud I could skate quite fast round and round the rink, but I'm really enjoying learning some actual technique and things a bit more fancy than forward in a straight line. The other ladies in my class are all really friendly too which makes it a nice place to go.

What i do for poppys party's is buy plain plates but get exciting napkins to make it look prettier. Pound shops are great for basic plain plates etc.

Blackout blinds definately a must have. Our black out curtain doesn't fit on the window we have now so OH has hung it over the top lol.

Amazing how quick buts add up especially for parties.

Oh dear about Evie CMD, i often have days when Poppy won't nap unless we are in car/pushchair. Hard work!

Birdie - ouch at the blood tests! Hopefully will be easier next time.
