What i do for poppys party's is buy plain plates but get exciting napkins to make it look prettier. Pound shops are great for basic plain plates etc.

    .

This is what we did for Noahs 1st birthday, still ended up spending a fortune on other things for his party though! Already starting to worry about the costs of this years party for him :o

I am very lucky, Noah doesn't have blackout blinds and his curtains aren't the best, but he still goes to sleep at 7pm no problem. Thank god!

Am on driving lesson number 11 Birdie. 12 are the requirement in Ireland now, so one more to go but I will probably continue to have one every 2-3 weeks until I pass my test. BIL is looking for a car for us. Am not pushing him on this until I get my 0% rate at the end of June!

Black out blind is a must and you will sell it at a good price when you are finished with it. Max doesn't need one as he has heavy curtains but Evie does!

I would have bought the fancy cups and plates too so my lips are sealed. Lol!

Birdie - give us a crafty closet reveal :)

Flower - Noah sounds like a really good little fella

I think of everyone on here you and I have the most similar attitudes to money. Probably explains why both of us had similar debt mountains at one point!

Had a lovely baby music class today, chatted to some nice mums and one told me about some council baby swim classes in a nearby town, only about 5 mins drive more than where she goes now, but £42 for 10 classes instead of £140, so if Grace starts liking swimming again we'll go to those instead of the Water Babies ones as I really hate a whole day sitting around the house with her as she gets cranky and I seem to get depressed easily if I don't have very frequent and varied social contact and leave the house.

Letter through today, our dual fuel is going up to £130 a month as we used a lot more gas the last few months than expected. It's so much money! I know we're on the cheapest tarrif for our use as I checked about a week before we went away, but £1560 seems like such a huge amount, it's about 5x what we pay for water and without water you can't live!

Gosh that is a lot for gas! Do you think it sounds right or could there be some kind of leak that you're getting charged for?

Whenever I grumble about our little flat I always remind myself of how wonderfully cheap it is to run and I feel so much better! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I feel your pain there, ours has just gone up recently. Didn't help that we had such a cold winter that seemed to go on and on! We only turned our heating off a couple of weeks ago :o

Thats good news about the swimming lessons, much better price. I pay £46 every 8 weeks for one of Noahs groups, for me its money well spent because he really does love it. Everything else we go to is either free or £1 per session so we just go as and when.

I think we are very similar with our attitude to money. I sense a shift in both of our thinking though so I really believe that we are on the way back up!

Similar taste in Next baby clothes too! That has to be a positive :)

Grace's baby walker doesn't have much friction on our wooden floors and it tends to get away from her, so she's currently pushing her toy baby grand piano around the lounge. Child is either a genius or has a future in furniture removals.

She's not on oxygen anymore and we're halfway through weaning off her diuretics and stuff for her reflux. Within a month she shouldn't be on any medication except her hayfever stuff, and while obviously she has underlying health issues they don't impact on her every single day, just means she has more appointments and winter is a blinking nightmare (might claim again then as her conditions do have a massive impact upon her then), so I wouldn't feel right claiming.
