Yes! Why do they think they are doing it for us? Erm no your doing it because it needed doing and this house is as much your responsibility as mine  :rotfl:

To be honest I dont usually mind. OH works long hours, usually over 60 a week and I was only working part time. Now obviously I am on maternity leave I take it as my responsibility to keep the house clean and tidy and prepare dinner. But sometimes cant help but feel that he thinks the little fairy's come and do it all :o

When I was off I was happy that I did 90% of it, no problem. Now we work very similar hours we have an agreement that whoever isn't working that day, or the one doing fewer hours does the housework. Between the housework and the fact that I'm doing several hours of work today for dad, stuff for mum, stuff for the NCT, I feel like my personal priorities etc are just completely irrelevant and unappreciated. :(

Ooooh no, I feel your pain! When I was working all the jobs I used to come home and be so annoyed if OH had just sat there and not done anything. So whenever I was at home it really felt like all I did was clean, cook and sleep. Not nice at all. Sometimes I honestly think they innocently don't notice, but equally I've wanted to physically hurt OH when he just expects me to do the housework. Does anyone else get the "Oh, I emptied the dishwasher for you" whoop-de-bloody-do. What an lovely gift.
Lol I know, but I do appreciate it being done. I shouldn't as it's both our home, but it just means I expect to come home and still have to do it so I'm glad when I don't. My personal favourite is 'oh, when you said 'do the dishwasher' I thought you just meant empty it' or even worse 'I didn't do the dishwasher as you hadn't emptied it' - ARGH!

I have actually stopped doing everything in protest before :D didn't take long for him to point out to me that the bathroom needed cleaning and he had no clean clothes. Think that actually annoyed me even more because he still didnt think to do it himself :rotfl: just pointed out that I was slacking!

See I don't think NIM would notice, his brother is one of the dirtiest individuals on the planet, he'd only realise there was an issue when he found Grace in the hall chewing on mud off a shoe or something!

In that case, running off to pub because they give a fresh glass with every purchase and I don't have to do the washing up. :rotfl:

    Nice to see everyone back!

Can I have opinion pls? As you know I want to take baby kavics to New York on our first holiday. It has to be NY as I wanted a place I always wanted to go but have never been there with Leo so we can make new memories. I was thinking going this Oct or next June as that's when I'm back in the UK so flights are easy. I kind of think that October is a bit of a pain as I still need to sterilise, take bottles, take formula, she will be crawling not walking, etc. June is easier though she will be walking and the flight might be hard if she wants to be running around. What do others think? She will be 11 months in oct and 18 months at the beg of June.

I'd go in June Kavics, we flew with Grace when she was about 14 months and she was no trouble to us really, we're flying again next month. She still won't remember it, but when she's that bit older you'll find she enjoys it herself, rather than you enjoying it and pointing things out, the age Grace is now she's getting so curious and chatty, I think New York would be great at this age. Plus she only needs nappies and wipes and we can go, if she was still on bottles during the day it would be much more of a faff to go out for the day x

Yes I agree with Dinah. I wouldn't fancy having to pack sterilisers, formula etc and sorting bottles out for the long flight!

Even though I don't have any experience yet, I'd go for June too Kavics. :) Little Baby K will be toddling and talking more, she'll be able to eat more of the food; she'd be a delight to be with at that age! Not that she isn't now, but YKWIM! :) There are loads of things on line about travelling with toddlers and keeping them settled on long flights, you'll just have a bag full of toys instead of bottles! ;)

Looking for your opinion guys. We're due to go to York tomorrow as a friend is doing a charity coffee afternoon. I'd really love to see her however mentally I'm in a saving money place, and I can't really get my head around spending around £22 on fuel plus £6 for 2x entrance to the coffee afternoon. This redundancy thing has really shaken me, I really, really want to get things sorted now in a way I haven't for about 5 years. But I also don't want to let her down having said we'd go, I don't think there are a huge number of people going. At the moment I'm veering towards emailing, apologising and explaining I've just found out my job is at risk, and offering to send our donation via paypal, so saving the petrol, and not so much letting her down but not getting to see her. What do you think?

I think that sounds like a good compromise Dinah. :)
