Ooooh Northumberland, lovely! We keep talking about having a little jaunt up to Alnwick one weekend to visit 'our' steakhouse.
Hope you're careful on your skates, you don't want to be breaking your leg just as you're about to go back to work- they'll think it was on purpose!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Thinking of you this morning, Dinah! Let us know how you get on
Holiday with your parents sounds lovely though, how's NIM doing?
Sounds like everyone had nice plans for the weekend! We hadn't planned anything, but wound up at the wholesalers on Saturday and then I drove us out to the Peaks yesterday to walk Ryder (we all came home and had a nap afterwards!) so it was unexpectedly lovely! Although I think OH just wanted to get me out of the house yesterday to stop my 12th Doctor countdown
p.s. Looooved your hair post-spa Tete, it really suits you like that!0 -
Morning all! What a lovely, grim, morning it is too!
Had a pretty nice weekend, my brother and SIL came round with Jakey on Saturday and we spent a nice couple of hours having cuddles and kisses and giggles with him. He's hard work though, never stops moving; he's only 4 months old and you can tell he's already desperate to be walking, he loves to be held up so he can 'walk'!
We spent Saturday afternoon in the pub as it is a tradition on our City's Saint's Day to watch the parade then go for drinks with friends. That was not so much fun as a boring preggo but the weather was lovely.
The wedding reception in the evening was really dull, bless the happy couple. Just not enough people for a big space and a really odd mix of family/friends/colleagues who didn't mingle so there was hardly anyone dancing. Again, this was definitely NOT a lot of fun as the designated driver, although drinks were so expensive OH said at one point that he's never gone to a wedding reception to sober up after having a few pre-party drinks!
Speaking of weddings, eeeek, you must be feeling excited now Shrimpy! :j I'm sure your day won't be dull at all!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Ha ha thanks Birdie, I hope not! I'm so ridiculously excited, I am about as much use as a useless thing at work! I accidentally got drunk instead of making my favours at the weekend so still have that to do this week but otherwise we're pretty much set

LOL Shrimpy
Very exciting, lots of wedding fever on the thread at the moment. Can't wait to see all those lovely pics :j
Off to my cousin's wedding this weekend. Ordered a few bits from DP in the sale: this, this and this. The green dotty one is weird in the bust and the blue one is a flattering shape, but it makes me look very demure, like a little crochet fairy that sits on top of the spare loo roll :rotfl: The navy one is great on although hard to see in the picture. Should I try to style it up for the wedding, or try to get something else, a bit more glam? I never wear navy so have no clue about accessories. All my shoes are black apart from my cream wedding pumps. Feel like !!!! at the moment so I could do with looking hot! I always feel like the poor relation at these sorts of do's. I don't really like many of the looks in the shops at the moment.
We have been on the clearout too CMD. I have been avidly Free cycling so far: an old table, filing cabinet, tray, 2 TVs, scanner, charger, 2 blinds, 2 chests of drawers with 8 bags to the charity shop and recycling. The shed itself is nearly ready to go on Freecycle too. It takes up 1/3 of the garden (unfortunately the sunny 1/3) so it will be like getting an extension. Although we will have no money to get any paving or decking, but at least we will have some time to plan what to do. Tackled the cupboard of doom mark 2 and found some rising damp . Man coming about it tomorrow. Lets hope he says it will only cost a few pounds.
Hope today has been okay Dinah xx:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Big hugs for feeling crappy ATM Lara. If the navy dress makes you feel good then wear it.
Wear the cream shoes with it (have you got a cream or gold sparkly bag?) and go for a fabulous statement headpiece like this which will make it look like the simple dress was chosen to complement the hat, rather than it being 'styled up' IYSWIM.
Hope your day was OK Dinah, must have been a bit of a shock to the system but it'll get better.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hey Dinah just wanted to check you're ok after today! Hope grace was okay too without you! How did it go?
Lara I like that navy dress! Would you say it was work suitable length wise? I really like it! I'm sure you can dress it up like birdie says for the wedding to but I like the other blue one if you want something brighter!0 -
Tink - at the front it's on the knee for me (and I'm 5'3") and then the back hem is slightly longer. Definitely good for workwear. You should get it, and don't forget there's two stackable codes on this thread. I really like that concession Closet, it has some good structured dresses for pear shaped ladies, and it's all made in London which is cool too.
I never thought of a headpiece Birdie, I will pop into Accessorize and have a wee look.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
How can you be planning an outfit for a wedding without thinking of a headpiece?! This is what is wrong with the world nowadays!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
