I'm on the Grand Central Dinah.
I'd forgotten all about the OH being run over drama CMD! Nightmare! OH isn't allowed to play rugby after Christmas in case he gets injured and I've told him I'm not looking after him again! He's due another biggie so I'll be spending September to December on pins waiting for news of broken bones/torn ligaments etc!
Friends update: they're definitely not getting back together (in the words of Taylor Swift: never ever eveeeeeerrrrrrrr) and she's thinking about whether or not she wants to come on holiday or not. OH spoke to the guy yesterday and said that we're happy for them both to come but we will not put up with any arguments and we definitely will not get caught in the middle! My man, laying down the law!I seriously doubt she'll come now so feeling a lot better about it... was so worried we'd get stuck in the middle for 2 weeks and it'd make my nice relaxing holiday a chore!

Same train as us then
Sounds like (from your perspective) the best possible outcome for the holiday. Am I right in saying you were never her biggest fan anyway?
Had a lovely night out last night to say a final farewell to my best friend who is moving to South Africa for a year. I managed to not cry in front of her, put on a whole 'what a great adventure and I'm not sad you're going at all' face on, which I'm proud of. Going to miss her so much, and I honestly don't think she's going to come back. She'll meet her guy out there and settle down and get married. Yey, great adventure but boo I miss her already!
NIM in Nottingham today, which meant an early 5am start, and Grace woke up as he closed the front door. So at 7.45 she was already going down for her first nap. Wish I could have a nap too. Going out for the day again, Newby Hall this time, really making the most of my last week off and looking forward to seeing Grace on the little train.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well I do really like her, but she can be hard work sometimes. Put it this way, I couldn't be married to her!
She has always been lovely to me but she always started a lot of silly arguments with her OH over absolutely nothing which was pretty tiresome. I think he got fed up of being shouted at all the time and decided he deserves someone who gives him a hug and a kiss when he gets home, not a telling off for something he may or may not have done!
Big hugs for your friend going to SA! At least if she does settle down there you can have a fabulous holiday to visit her (once you're DF of course!).
Have a lovely day at Newby Hall! I can't wait to take my LO on the little train and recreate the photo of me on there (in which I look terrified of the sheer speed of it!)

What's NIM coming this way for, Dinah?
Exciting for your friend going to South Africa!
Sounds like things will be easy for your holiday if one (or both) of them doesn't go, good on your OH for saying it how it is too! Knowing what rugby wives go through I'm so glad OH just plays football, and gets put in goal because he's a bear!
After yesterday I've decided I'm going to minimise my wardrobe! (August challenge!) Today I'm having a ruthless clear out - if I don't wear it, or it doesn't fit it's out. Get it down to complete basics (plus a few pretty dresses) then make a list of key things I'll need (like tunics, leggings, mushroom dresses..) so each month I can save up and buy one quality thing. And I can (hopefully) go from having a massive collection of clothes but nothing to wear to a minimal, functional and grown up wardrobe. I mean, it sounds like it'll work in theory - right?
Speaking of... do we have an August challenge?0 -
He's got a meeting, he's the prefered candidate for a market research tender at a hospital down there.
Thanks for bringing that up Cinny, I was thinking of needing an August challenge. What are anyone's thoughts? For me August is a month of enjoyment and life revaluing/decluttering as I still see September as the start of a new year and a time to knuckle down and get serious.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I have just put in a vote on Twitter for Awesome August ;-) Enjoying the month all out before knuckling down next month? I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe but I fear it'll never happen for me!
I'd have to just get rid of everything and start from scratch! I also wear way too many dresses which causes problems in terms of capsule-friendly wardrobe-ness because I think the idea is that you have mix and match skirts, trousers and tops... but that's just not how I roll!
I wore jeans the other day and my thighs felt so constricted I started to panic a little! :rotfl:
Like the idea of saving up for one good item every month though. You'll have to share your monthly purchases!
Not too sure about the August challenge... something productive but not too taxing!ETA: I like your suggestion Shrimpy!

Oh, does that mean he'll be working this way on for life? Good luck to him anyways!
Maybe August could be a free month? Just enjoy the sunshine before Autumn starts setting in and we come back with a hard challenge. Just focus on relaxing and detoxing your life?
Jeans are just difficult when you're used to wearing dresses! I'm probably going to be worst minimalist. Aiming for 3 pairs of trousers, 7 tops, 3 cardigans (*cries*) 2 hoodies, 2 jumpers and 5 day dresses, 4 work dresses. So that's 26 items?! I'll knock it down to one hoodie to make it a round 25!Will let you know how I get on *gulp* I might get the skirt version of the dress though, to make it more functional!

That sounds like a great plan Cinny, good luck!
Love the skirt, and the cardi the model's wearing with it!

You lot have been chatty this morning! This will be my last monthly challenge I think and Awesome August is perfect for me - decluttering, organising and relaxing and seeing friends and family before the madness starts in September
Cinny, capsule wardrobes fascinate me - I could never do it myself. I don't get chance to do washing often enough for starters! Damn you for linking to the CK website too, there's some lovely and way expensive stuff on there
Good luck to NIM today!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
