I know a lot of people are wanting to loose a bit of weight and are keen to take that on as a challenge, so I've started a seperate thread for all things diet, weight loss, exercise, recipe sharing etc. Please join me! Challenge starts 2nd January.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Quite proud of myself, I usually buy lots in the sales as they're "bargains", so I stock up on pressies, kids clothes etc. This year I'm trying not to buy anything other than a pair of jeans for me as I don't have a single pair of jeans or trousers that currently fit. Might go wild and get a couple of bras too as I don't have any that aren't nursing bras and I'm sick of the little clips coming undone! However kids clothes, we keep getting given hand me downs from all over the place, and birthday or christmas gifts, and if there is anything we need I'll get them second hand at a nearly new sale or on ebay as needed.
Had to pay out (why isn't the pound symbol working?!) 150 on christmas eve to mend the broken suspension on my car, the part cost 91pound so I think it's pretty reasonable for all the work he put into it (and that he opened the garage at 7pm on a Sunday for the tow truck to deliver it, and worked on Christmas Eve as that was the day the part was delivered).
Grace is having a day with mum tomorrow so hoping to get our current debt total worked out so we're ready to hit the new year ground running.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Glad you got the car sorted - nightmare timing! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas? I will definitely be checking out the new thread. I'm also going to do the declutter challenge (was that from last Jan or the one before?) and aiming for 310 things gone. Am cheating very slightly as starting today but we're away for a few days in Jan so am telling myself it will all balance out!
ETA maybe I will include pounds lost in the above as a double incentive! ;-)Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -

Happy Christmas all! Hope you had a good one. We had a lovely time and now seriously need a sort out of toys!
Annoying about the car Dinah, but doesn't sound too bad to get it sorted.0 -
I don't want to count my chicken and all that but it looks like we will be entering the new year with a bank in the black. The first time in many years. It was around the £4500 mark. I fully intend to manage the money in the black and pay a cc with the usual overdraft fee. This fee used to be 25 but recently moved to £3 per day.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
