Sounds like a lovely weekend Birdie (apart from OH distracting you!). We just got back from a few days in Prague which was lovely, and I've been offered a new job so things are definitely looking up! Just need to get OH sorted with a new job now and we'll be on track.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Thanks everyone.
Birdie - we haven't told her yet. I know she will be so excited as she always talks about when one day she has a baby brother or sister. Planning to tell her tomorrow after 16 week appointment.
Hope the cold goes soon!
Weekend was nice. Went out for a meal sat while my mum babysat. Then took Poppy to see father Christmas at the ski slope on Sunday.
Ruby - glad things are going well for you now. Fingers crossed for your OH he finds something.
Has everyone got some time off over Christmas? I am working till Thurs this week then just in Monday morning next week as Poppy has her show in the afternoon. Then i'm in 30th and 31st but won't be full days.0 -
We had a lovely weekend. We went to OH's work party. It was in a 5 star hotel and we were put up for the night. He works with a nice bunch so it ended up being a nice night.
I am working tomorrow and Wed and off until the 6th Jan. OH finishes on the 19th Dec to the 5th. I can't wait to have 2 weeks off. I feel exhausted from nights out already and nights planned for the 17th, 21st, 27th, 31st and the 3rd. That is catching up with loads of different friends, some of whom are back from Australia. Hoping to have loads of cosy nights in and movie nights (and days) with the kiddies.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I was SO SURE I posted a message to say congrats, Wendz! But obviously not - so congratulations! Hope everything's going well, and like Birdie said it is good that they're confident and not worried about the pregnancy
I'm sure Poppy will be thrilled once the news is out!
I'm with your OH, CMD. I'm off from the 19th until the 5th, I can't wait! Had such a stressful few weeks with work, OH, my sister's had a few marital issues and to top it all off my old girl Izzy was pts last Thursday (heart murmur, fluid on her lungs. Was more of a kindness to let her go with some dignity and comfort, but it doesn't really make it any easier. Even more so when I know how much she loved Christmas and me sneaking her some stuffing!) I feel like I've emotionally earned these 16 beautiful days
Good news on the etsy sales too, DinahNot surprised they're selling well, or your frames Birdie!! Hope you're feeling better soon x
I've managed to not get a cold so far! Yay for being socially shut off and spending unhealthy amounts of time with my dog :cool: Have a nice weekend planned, taking Ryder for seaside walkies and OH has decided this is the year... The year to get classy as balls.. M&S Christmas food shop :eek: We have most of our stuff (important things like rum) stashed away already so it's really just the turkey and some trimmings! We have a £20 voucher too so hoping the bill won't be too much0 -
I'm sure Poppy will be adorable when you tell her about her little brother or sister Wendz! Will you be giving her a doll to practice on?
Work do sounds very nice CMD! Our company is too tight to pay for anything half as fancy!
Haven't got loads of time off over Christmas, had to be conservative with my holiday since I've taken so much time off already working 'part time'. Have Christmas Eve and New Years Eve off, as well as the bank holidays so in Mon/Tue next week and the week after. Not too bad as I do tend to get a bit cabin feverish stuck at home with 'nothing' to do and work will be pretty quiet and relaxed.OH has 13 days off over Christmas and is so excited about sitting at home and getting fat for 2 weeks! How nice to be a man and have that as your goal!
Gave into the cold yesterday and had the day off sickManaged to finish 5 frames over the last 2 days (since I couldn't do anything more energetic than sitting at the table) and a necklace for the work secret santa! Feel so much better without that stuff looming over me like a big looming thing. Trying not to panic about the fact that Christmas is in 8 days and I haven't bought OH anything, still have SIL to buy/make for, 2 frames for the grandfolk from Zach (since I guess they're kind of expected) and another secret santa to make/buy! :eek: We don't even know when we're going to do the Christmas food shop as we're not both free until Christmas Eve which is going to be mental so might just have to send OH with a list one morning and hope he doesn't get too carried away buying silly things! Feel so unorganised this year!

Cross posted with you Cinny! Sorry about Izzy
Very fancy pants of you to get your Christmas food from M&S, but worth it! When I was growing up the running joke was that Christmas came from M&S, apart from the bread, which came from Betty's!Not as fancy when we host, although most things come from Booths which is almost as posh as Waitrose... more out of convenience than anything else though since it's close. As in, the store is built above our parking garage!

Wrote a long reply yesterday and it dissapeared arghh!
Sorry about Izzy Cinny, hope you are OK. Hope things get a bit better with everything going on.
CMD - work do sounds lovely!
Birdie - Hope you manage to get everything done, time seems to be whizzing past. A week today till the big day!
We have told Poppy now, she didn't believe me to start with though as said to me 'it is just pretend though isn't it mummy?'. She keeps talking about it now though but will be a long time for her to wait. She loves her dollies so i'm sure she will love having a real life one!0 -
Sorry to hear about Izzy Cinny, hope you are enjoying your deserved time off now.
Such a lovely pic of you and Ben Dinah, I love seeing all the threadie baby pics on FB, such a bunch of cuties! And congratulations Wendz, so cute of Poppy!
Birdie I'm totally unprepared for Christmas too, had to fork out £6 for next day delivery on my sisters present as I'd forgotten to order it and haven't even hung up our Christmas cards this year...
I managed to miss the PHD Challenge but might have a stab at getting my wedding sampler finished over Christmas, which is long overdue considering I started it before the wedding! Ah, so it's not only me with a craft box of shame!
I really want to finish my scarf by Christmas (it will be my present to myself!) so I'd best get cracking! Only a couple of stripes to go so it shouldn't take too long....?!
I'm still waiting on OH's main present to arrive and getting a bit worried that it's not on the way!I was wrapping presents last night and realised that we haven't bought as much for my nephew as we'd thought so have to get him something else this week! I also have to get an orchid for my Mum but that's having to wait until Christmas Eve as I'm scared of killing it and the longer it's in my care, the higher the chance of it dying!
At least I finished the rest of my shopping yesterday! Just don't ask me about Christmas cards. For someone who makes (and sells!) Christmas cards, it's embarrassing how I always forget to actually write and send any!
Ah, crud. Just remembered about the frames I need to make for the grandfolk! That's my 'free' evening tomorrow sorted!Knowing me, I'll be finishing them on Christmas morning!
Anyhoo, hope everyone had a nice weekend and you're all feeling a lot more sorted for the big day than I am!Just 2 days of work this week, whoop! :T

Don't worry Birdie, I never send Christmas cards and just about remember to get ones for my parents and the OH.
Just popping in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I'm really not feeling in the festive spirit this year but I hope you all are!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
