Woop woop on the extra money in pay packets birdie and Cinny! Think oh might be getting a bonus at Christmas which is awesome and means a bit coming up spend won't have to come out of savings so that will be great! Wish my company did bonuses!!!

Would love to come up to York but can't do weekdays unfortunately so next time if we do a weekend or plan more in advance I can come!!

I'm really sorry to put a spanner in the works, but I can't do the 12th after all! :( OH reminded me yesterday that I'm going to Leeds with him that day! :o Can do the week before or the Saturday?

Great news about the job Ruby! Sounds like it's yours, just frustrating that they have to go through all the official stuff.

The fair on Friday was OK. Was a really big do but the people just weren't buying. Sold half a dozen cards and a journal so only made £15 once I'd paid for the table. Did better than my friend who was there selling jewellery, she just covered her table cost. :( Bit disheartening really as I like the idea of doing fairs and spreading the word but seems like such a waste of time when nothing sells! I have had 3 enquiries over the weekend though so got them to be working on this week, one is to be sent to the USA and one is to go to Ireland so it looks like I'm going global! ;)

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been awol for such a long time, but the good news is that i have moved offices at work and the two colleagues I share with now are on the road a lot so I will hopefully get a lot more time to check in here. I've missed you all!

I'm also trying to lose a few pounds before Christmas so would be on board for some group support - then after Christmas its time to tackle the money situation again...

Incredible money making the other day Dinah! As always, this thread really gets me thinking! And your house deposit is looking great too Cinny!

Also glad your housing situation is sorted now Flower, must have been a horrible time for you.

So much to catch up on but I won't waffle on any more, other than to say its great to 'see' you all!

Hope you have a nice day in Leeds, Birdie! Sorry to be a stick in the mud but the 12th is the only day I can do next month, I'm busy every weekend until the end of the year and it was hard to wrangle a Ryder-sitter for the 12th :(

Glad I came on here for a catch up before I bought tickets! :rotfl:

Lovely to heard from you Shrimpy! :) I like it when you can get internet time at work, mine is slowly shrinking with it being the year end :(

Hi everyone, how are we doing? Sorry been awol in the last week, Christmas rush on Etsy has been surprising, been doing around 6 orders a day, not loads and loads but enough to keep my busy alongside the kids and trying to tidy the ebay room (previously a guest room but there is so much in there to sell you couldn't get a guest in anymore!).

NIM has Grace out for the day today, I'm really jealous I couldn't go too but I need to stay and keep doing the ebay room as someone is coming to take the bed in the next few days so I want everything in there sorted into boxes not just in a pile on the bed/floor. At the moment the rest of the house is decent but that one room is a phone call away from featuring on a channel 4 documentary on hoarders.

Mini December challenge, as it's always such a busy month. PHD Challenge. Don't worry, we're not going after our resident brainiac Lara's level of attainment - this is much simpler - The Projects Half Done challenge. Pick something that's been hanging over you, commit to no excuses finishing it by the end of the month. This could be sorting the ever present box of papers beside the sofa, finish knitting that scarf, sorting and chucking the old baby clothes etc. For me it's going to be the kitchen. I've started cleaning and clearing all the drawers and cupboards, throwing out random bits, chucking out of date food, putting food into logical cupboards rather than having 5 fairly general 'food' cupboards with no plan, but I still have over half to do and it'll be great to be sorted. I like things clean and organised but stray pieces of pasta and baby bottles seem to fall out of every cupboard anytime I open them, and not being able to find anything is not conducive to actually cooking.

Money, plodding along. No overpayments, no missed payments. Bank account positive. Will need to find the time to actually be more on top of it in the new year, this pootling along isn't actually getting anything off the debt.

    Hi!

Great news about your Etsy shop doing well! Looking forward to getting my mug so I can use it at work. :)

Good luck with clearing the ebay room too, I'm terrible when it comes to tackling massive projects like that, I get overwhelmed and just shut the door and try to forget about it. As proven by my inability to deal with the hall cupboard! :o

The PHD challenge sounds great, not sure if it should be the hall cupboard of doom or my scarf that needs to be finished, or maybe both?! I was looking at my scarf the other day and I've somehow managed to lose about 2 inches in width (!!!) so have to add stiches as I go in an attempt to make it widen out again and make it look deliberate...:p

There's nothing wrong with just plodding along every so often with money. Sometimes there just isn't time or opportunity to tackle debts with gusto every single day! As long as the payments are being made and you're not adding to your debt then I'd say you're doing well enough! :) Look forward to a new start in the new year! :T

Glad to hear everything's ticking along on the run up to Christmas.

Nothing much to report here; had another interview for a new job just as a backup in case they find someone better for my current one and wedding planning is going ahead full force (rings have been collected, florist has almost been booked and save the dates shall be going out in the next couple of weeks)

I have loads of half done things in the flat but I think the one that takes priority is the filing of the never ending pile of papers. And when I say pile I really mean 3 massive boxes of stuff that mostly needs shredding. I'm also hoping that somewhere in there is my counterpart driving license and my qualification certificates as I may need them soon.

So glad to hear you say that :rotfl: we have decided after all the stress of the last few months we are going to try and enjoy Christmas as much as possible, and will be very much plodding along when it comes to money. New year will signal the start of really trying to get things under control once again.

As long as you're not thinking 'Ah, screw it!' and adding to the debt, then its OK to have some down time IMO.

Did another craft fair on Saturday. Waste of time TBH. Took a measly £15, the table cost £7 and I spent £2.50 on cake and coffees! Used the time to chase up some orders on FB! :p Got no more fairs lined up now and not sure if I'm going to bother doing more. None of the other stalls seemed to do well either and it's really depressing because you can see how much time and money has been invested on every table and for not much reward. People going to these things want ought for nought! :(

Feel rubbish today, got a nasty cold so didn't sleep well (OH kept rolling me over because I was breathing loudly... so would he if his nose was as blocked as mine!) then the little man decided to start screaming at 5.20am and refused to go back to sleep until he was in the car on the 4 minute drive to nursery! Bit of a short nap! :p As a result, I'm at work in body but not mind today! Just hope he goes to sleep at a decent hour so I can have an early night!
