I would of said somewhere more Southern but there's no way I could afford the train tickets this time of year! :( Might be nice to plan something though, maybe early next year when EC do their £10 London Return deal??

Will add them to my list, Ruby! I normally get stuck in the fantasy/sci-fi section of books, I want to spread my wiiiings. Although after being lost in Waterstones last week I did end up breathing a sigh of relief followed by muttering "my people!" under my breath when I finally found the Sci-Fi corner :D

I'm aiming for 3 a month so any suggestions would be welcome! If everyone else is getting working out, I'll exercise my imagination instead :o I jumped straight from Stephen King to The Hobbit and started imagining poor Bilbo driving down a dusty Maine road :o:o:o

Oh god, don't come south for my benefit. I love the north and miss it with a passion!

I could talk about books all day (probably why I joined a book club...) Some of the choices are a little strange though but that helps broaden your horizons I guess. Just read "Red Dust Road" for this month and it was not what I expected, I actually kind of enjoyed it.

Yep 19th is the one I have no childcare for (and grace is in hospital for a half day so it really is a big no). How about the 5th?

5th might be too early in the month for me, can imagine OH being a little upset if I go without him first. 12th would be more ideal but if everyone else is better for the 5th I'll see if I can work around it :)

Ruby - I love the South! Although I'm always happy to come back home, I've got to admit. I keep getting a little selfishly worried when OH goes for interviews that would mean moving closer to London. He actually got offered a job in Summer that would have meant moving there, but the pay was just a little too low to support us both. Actually, it wasn't even a good wage to support OH alone! Might look for a book club actually, that's a good idea! Or an online subscription book club because I'm lazy and unsociable
  • Hope you all have a great time at the meet up. One of these days I might make one :D

I lived in Edinburgh, Reading and Brighton and my favourite was Brighton. The sunshine, the beach, the relaxed atmosphere. Loved it!!!

Everything is so expensive in the South and I live in one of the most expensive areas outside of London (typical!) I'd love to live by the sea in Wales; that's the dream. OH would hate it but I'd love it.

If you join Goodreads, they have groups that are basically online bookclubs. I try and dip in when I can but things can move pretty quickly!

12th would be good for me. :)

I wish that I knew more of the country but it's just so expensive to go on holidays in the UK and we hate driving for long lengths of time so it's just not going to happen! :o Bah, who needs to leave Yorkshire anyway?! ;)

Payday today for me and I've got ACTUAL REAL PROPER money again! Woo! :j There's some overtime in there too so it's even more than usual, huzzah! We really need it, had to buy stuff on the CC over the last week which we hate so going to have to be careful this month to get that paid off and stay in the black by next payday... which will be difficult as we have a big nursery bill to pay!

Doing a craft fair tomorrow night. Hope it goes better than the last one! I haven't had much chance to prep for it (bloody work getting in the way!) but made some cards last night and I've got a few hours tomorrow morning to quickly get some stuff made if I'm on the ball! :)

12th is great, can go the weekend before with OH so he doesn't feel neglected and abandoned!

Good luck with your stall tomorrow! People are getting all Crimmus minded now so I'll keep my fingers crossed the sales will floooow :)

I feel jealous OH knows all these odd places now with work and I'm just sat here like "yeah, but can you name every street, road and avenue of our town?" I'd go to more places but it's time/having a cool dog/fuel money (although petrol is only £1.19 now!) plus I like the places I know :o

Bought one of these for Patisserie Valerie. Don't know if it'll be useful to anyone else? It's for practically every one of their cafes! 2 festive coffees/hot chocolate and two mince pies for £5 instead of £10.20 :)

Had an unexpected extra £120 with my wages today, no idea why but I double checked with our accounts man and apparently it's right! Popped it all into savings, like a Sensible Sally.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Ooh thanks for that Cinny, might buy one so me and OH can treat ourselves one weekend. Well done on saving the extra cash, that is sensible.

On another positive note; work want to offer me a permanent position here. It still has to be advertised (for 24 hours and internal only) and I have to have an interview but they kept saying how pleased they are with the work I'm producing. So not all bad then!
