Calm down dear calm down,;)
Seriously, don't get upset about it, we all have crap days, you'll probably go years without another mishap now.
I once blew the electric board mains fuse and snapped a stopcock off on the same day,:eek:
It does for me though highlight the benefits of being able to DIY.
I know you can't from what you have said, but your post shows why anyone who has some mechanical ability should learn the basics, there is a lot of money to be saved.;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thank you so much for your lovely reply Yes we all get difficult days. DIY absolutely useless!!! There is a handyman who does work for the Apartments where I live. It can be better than trying to get SIL or Daughter to do anything. Grandson 17 but his Dad will not let him do things. My Husband was the best DIY ever. Everything other than electricity and gas he could do . Sadly maybe he should have given me some lessens but we didn't think that I would be in this position, I have a great deal to be happy about and the work will be done. Still trying to contact my plumber! Tomorrow is another day and again many many thanks I do appreciate it0

I had an electrician in today to deal with another problem and asked him to cut the flex No joy but it was worth a try Now need to think about what I will order I have 3 dyson and am used to bagless Don't know how I would be with bags but in before I just changed it I suppose.
Trying to make a decision I have always had an upright and at the moment I am using a cylinder and it feels OK Henry has been suggested by a lot of people How heavy is it? The Dyson but I don't really lift it just wheel it along. I don't have stairs so no problem How much should I expect to pay for a decent cleaner? Sorry again for so many questions. I have been away just came home last night.
Thanks again

We bought a Hoover bagless vacuum to replace our Dyson, Hoover has far more suction and also has different carpet cleaning settings and removes far more dust etc than the Dyson. The only thing against the Hoover is that you have to remove the plastic gauze filter ever time you mt the dust container which is much more of a fiddle than the Dyson. Our Dyson DC24 that we got rid of cost almost £200 but the Hoover cost just under £80.0

I have still to buy a replacement Dyson. Listening to the advice on this forum and not wanting to spend a lot of money (Miele etc) I have whittled it down to either the Vax U88-AM-B AIR BAGLESS UPRIGHT. COST £119
There is another at £129 and £149
My other choice is the HENRY various models and prices from about £109 upwards. I am now desperate as the one my Daughter has a full bag and she does not have any spares. Looked inside and there are a few things I would not want to tamper with.
I can buy from Amazon or Argos but the VAX is out of stock. I even toyed with the idea of just asking Dyson to come out and repair the model I have. Could get a new Dyson for £199 BUT past experience is not helping me.
Views would be appreciated.

I bought in the end the Miele S6210 cylinder £147 from Amazon. I wanted it in a hurry so paid for delivery ordered at 4pm and it arrived the following morning at 8.30am
I am delighted with it and it is compact so will take up less room than the upright dyson and it is much lighter so great overall Thanks to everyone who gave me excellent advice and pointed me in the right direction.
This is a fantastic site and don't know where I would be without it. I did post a new forum thanking everyone but I have deleted it.
Again many thanks to all

So what`s great about a bagless cleaner that has to have filters cleaned ? It`s all about cyclones and balls . Miele Cat and dog for me - OK I have to buy bags , filters no , the bag is that efficient they`re not needed0
