Check your Maximiles emails for 140 points for entering a comp to win a holiday in France. Received here 10.00.

Hi. I'm a newbie to Ipoints-can someone please explain why most of the things I'm signing up to etc to earn points aren't showing up in my 'pending points' section? It's only the odd company that's going into the pending section, let alone actually giving me any points! Is this how it is all the time? Will I get my points eventually from all the companies I'm owed points drom or am I spending hours signing up to stuff etc for no reason? Would really appreciate it if someone could clarify this with me please?
Create a folder and save any email promotions you respond to for Maximiles plus any confirmations you receive back from their partners (you don't need to worry about the emails you just click on for 5 points or the 5 point videos on their site as these are always credited within 24 hours). This way you can easily check if your points have been added within 30 days and have proof to query with if they have not been added. If points have not been added within 30 days, use the query form on their website and they will ask you to send the email and confirmation to them as proof. If it is a promotion direct from their site and you do not receive a confirmation email make a note of the time and date somewhere instead. Also save all survey invitations if you are doing these. For purchases save your invoice until the points are added to your account. Very few actually go into "pending" so don't rely on this to keep track of your outstanding points. I am absolutely positive I was missing out on points until I started saving my ipoints/maximiles emails.

Or should i wait until the points clear?.
Atm i cant seem to find any confirmation about joining palace but i will have my bank statement showing the £ going out to them.

No, you won't get them yet. Might be reassuring if we post on here when we notice them in our accounts.

I think you can change your email address within your Maximiles account at any time.

Thanks a lot for your advice. It seems like a lot of messing about though don't you think? I would have thought that everything would go into the pending area so you could see what you were owed etc. Do they try to dodge out of giving you points often then?

    Hope that's clearer, JD.
Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I bet slightly smaller amounts, got to within £1 of the £20 minimum withdrawal then got hit by the bad luck fairy (two 0's in three spins, then another one a few spins later). So I never made a profit from the betting, disappointed but hey I know nothings guaranteed in gambling and as long as I get the points I've still doubled my money :)

Incidentally anyone know how to close the casino account once the points are through?

Must admit, I haven't checked that out.

Hard luck on the actual play. I did have another practice session when writing my "instructions" post above (to refresh my memory) and the green did come up once. Sounds like you really were very unfortunate.
