Have I paid more at Kwik Fit because I am a woman???

Hi, I have just had an MOT done on my car at my local Kwik Fit garage. I ended up paying £280.00 - the price comprises of £35.00 for MOT, 3 new Continental tyres and £30.00 for tracking. I knew the tyres needed changing and I haven't had tracking done for a number of years. When I got home, I was told the price was ridiculous and I was charged all that only because I am a woman. I was happy with this garage last year, I only needed a new light bulb to pass my MOT and this year I did know about the new tyres...What do you think - was £280.00 too much to pay? Thanks for your advice.

You got the mot quite cheap at £35.

They must have told you the cost of the tyres before they fitted them??

How can anyone tell you if you have paid too much when you dont say the car you have or the size of tyres? I am not able to find tyres for my car under £150 each so a bit more info please.

They quoted me about £73.00 per tyre, incl. fitting, which I thought was very reasonable. The car is Ford Focus. Thanks.

Agree, one tyre for my car is £200, so to get 3 and an MOT and tracking for all of that actually doesn't seem too bad, depending on the car of course.....

Focus come with a wide range of tyre sizes. Do you know the actual size?

What size are the tyres?

£73 fitted seems pretty reasonable.

could have always asked for a budget brand - they aren't going to suggest that as the initial option they have pennies to make as any other business.
