You must have a massive ignore list. Anyone who dares to say you are wrong in your actions are ignored.

you are one of the type of people that have never been in an accident, but have caused many, no doubt.

I wish people would be safer on the roads. They're getting worse!

Paul - don't put me on your ignore list, but your attitude to constructive criticism (there IS some of it in here!) makes me think you're a bad driver.
Only you know the distances involved in your encounter, but I just can't imagine how it could have been such an emergency if you had been paying attention and looking ahead. I would have thought that a sideways lorry would be pretty obvious? Did you maybe exaggerate a bit?

almilar. OK I wont put you on ignore. :-)

But I didn't start the thread to discuss my driving. It was there to discuss someone elses and what I could do about it. OK maybe it was slightly exaggerated but so what. It was still not cool what the lorry driver did.

The trouble is there are people on this forum (not you) who's sole enjoyment in life seems to be to pick holes and start an argument with random strangers whatever they post.

I can guarantee that whatever you post on this forum, there will be someone who won't stick to the subject and will instead focus on criticising what you've posted. Without fail.

I've always said - this forum is turning into a really unfriendly place. Take a look at some posters history - they seem to come to this forum just to start arguments.

The point with (some of) the comments about your driving is a simple one:

You can't change anybody else's driving. People do stupid, dangerous things on the road. People will continue to do stupid dangerous things. Nobody is going to say that that trucker didn't do such here.

The only thing you can change is your own driving, how you deal with the situation when someone else does something stupid.

I realise it's a very fine line between constructive criticism and victim blaming when discussing the topic, and I hope I've stayed on the correct side of that line, but it is a fair point to say that swerving across into L3 at the last minute may not have been the best way to deal with the situation and could have ended up with you causing a separate accident for which, in insurance terms, you would have been to blame for.

It's also a very easy point to make while sat behind a keyboard, and a much harder point to consider in the heat of the moment, especially when none of us know the actual timings and distances involved.

Personally if I see someone in that chevron area, I'd take that as a sign to expect further stupidity and either back off or change lane before getting anywhere near them.

In this case nobody hit anything and everyone came out unscathed, which is good, but next time you might not get so lucky.
