Fun poll: If you had to settle for ONLY a bath or ONLY a shower

  • Before we bought our first house in January this year, we rented a house for 13 years. It had a bath with a shower over it & i loved having a long soak.

However, the house we bought only has a big walk in shower, no bath. And oddly enough i don't even miss the bath whatsoever! I love the shower more than the bath now lol. Funny how things change when you've been used to a bath for years. I wouldn't do without my shower now & think it'd feel rather strange laying in a bath!!!!! :)

I vote for a bath. Our bathroom is very cold during the winter and I wouldn't survive it.

I very rarely shower because the bathroom downstairs is the coldest place on earth with a crap, dribbly shower......but our upstairs bathroom is warm, cosy bliss with a massive, deep roll-top bath.

Saying that, if and when we can afford underfloor heating in the shower room and water pressure so strong it would blast me half way across the room, then I'd have to vote shower. :)

I voted for a bath - which is ironic as since we bought our house I've not been able to have one!

The hot water tank is too small - the bath can only be filled up half way before it runs out of hot water (and it will only allow the two of us to have two quick showers before it does the same  )

As a result, whenever I'm staying in a hotel, I take great pleasure in running myself a big, hot bath - it's one of the things I most look forward too! (that and when we finally change the ruddy hot water tank ) :D.

I adore long showers, not a fan of baths, hubby loves showers too, in fact I can't remember the last time either of us had a bath, I don't find it relaxing, not a fan of candles, and we enjoy reading a good book or listening to music wherever in the house we feel like (potentially soggy books are a big no no for both of us)!

Shower all the way. New bathroom literally just installed with big walk in shower and a wee small bath as there may eventually be a child to bath or a longer term view that if we sell up, it's a family house with one bathroom that you would expect a bath in

I lived for a good few years in a house with just a bath (I also grew up with just a bath) but I found it infuriating!! I now have a super swish double sized power shower and even after 18 months it's still my favourite thing in the house!
  • Really quite surprised at the amount who went for shower. That is what I would prefer, but I thought people would be more likely to want a bath. Interesting. :)

I love a good "monkey bath" - where you have the water so hot that as you slide into it you make "ooh ooh ooh aah aah aah" noises !
