I put to you now...that perhaps the less organised parents had babies in August by not planning ..and the ones that planned for september + are wiser people which makes the kids smarter as they get it from thier parents...so it has nothing to do with thier birthday but the parents planning skills..!! :D

I think it's more likely that those born in September (did you notice at school just how many September birthdays there were?) are the product of their parents getting carried away and slipping up on the contraception front over the festive period.

They got back to me said we could use their "private kitchen" to cut up cake and place in party bags as long as I make it very clear it is my cake and not theirs! Problem solved. Why she couldn't have suggested that on the first place I will never know ;)

I wonder if they've had an incident since your friend took her own cake or an over-zealous EHO inspector.

If you want to help your DD's education, better brush up a bit on stats before she gets on to the subject in Maths!

I'd like to just point out I am in fact a qualified numeracy tutor, and am well educated.

Then why on earth are you saying that one example (your DD) proves a statistical analysis of hundreds of thousands of children is wrong?

The statistic states that summer babies are likely to suffer educational difficulties. My daughter isn't. I am not interested on statistics. I'm sure at some point in the future it will change and summer babies will be excelling due to more support or some random thing. Why people get so fixated on these kinds of things is beyond me. Less tv more living I'd say.

What you actually said was "For me we have proven this "statistic" wrong."

Which is a pretty half-witted thing for a numeracy teacher to say!

Thank you for name calling me twice now. Can we get back onto the original topic? Anything you'd like to add about my daughter birthday cake? Any little gem of knowledge you would like to bestow onto us before your crawl back beneath your rock?

I think a rainbow birthday cake sounds lovely and far better than the cafe's suggested basic sponge cake.

Thought so! (to summarise in easy terms for us thicko summer babes to be able to understand :p) they tried it on to milk a few more quid off you, didn't get away with it, didn't want to lose the custom, made up an excuse to save face, job done.

    Good job!
