SFD today and did lots of home baking this morning. My lemon meringue pie was very yummy.

Wannabee, I let DS use the scanner at Tesco & he pretends to add it up. He's only 3 so we will keep trying. I would have appreciated some budgeting education when I was younger but making up for it now.

Kat, have a lovely well earned day off tomorrow. I may have another SFD tomorrow if playgroup isn't on. Bit of confusion as some schools are back next week but DS's preschool isn't grrrrrr!

Monday, Tuesday and Saturday are planned as spend days so should have a total of 6 SFDs by Sunday. Gonna do it one week at a time this month. Also need to make sure I update the spreadsheet every day otherwise I will loose track.

    Good night everyone xx

Evening everyone :) First check in of June from me and I have a spendy day to report. First of all, I spent £10.01 (Grrr, that messes up my spreadsheet!) on petrol, then a visit to the supermarket resulted in a spend of £14.43. Got more than enough food to last the week and I now have plenty of lentils, Quorn, vegetables, bread and milk. I made a batch of lentil chilli tonight and I reckon it didn't cost more than 25p per portion. I did a Kat special with the left over rice and made it into nutmeg and sultana rice pudding for desert!

I found a £3.98 Price Promise voucher at Tesco - I've not had one of these before. Is it as straightforward as presenting at at the checkout or is it linked to the real owner's Clubcard account? I will, of course, play dumb if anyone asks but it was near the bin so I guess they just chucked it away thinking it was a receipt? Who knows, but an extra £3.98 will go very nicely with my shaved back food budget this month!

Planning a SFD tomorrow, but here are my June figures at the end of day 2...
    SFD: 1/21
    Grocery: £14.43/£50
    Petrol: £10.01/£50
    Misc: £0/£100

    Helloooo one and all!

How is it 10.30pm already?! I hope you all have had a sun filled weekend!

his missus Can't believe that lil kitten had been abandoned! Strange that it was left with biscuits and a bed...so glad that your Dad found him! I would've done the same thing and taken him in, in a heartbeat! Keep us posted on his progress!

I have 2 SFDs to report- meal at my friends last night- 3 courses of delishousness (apparently that's not a real word?) and great entertainment. We played a console game where you have to act out a famous scene in a movie, the camera records you and then plays back the clip with you in the starring role- there was even a 'This is Sparta!' scene which had me chortling away thinking of my fellow Spartans!:D And today I had B/L with my Ma, took lots of items to the tip for her and helped with gardening so free food, plus free quorn burgers and sausages to take home courtesy of Mummy Dove <3

I've spent most of the remainder of my day cutting the grass at home (exciting!), had a soak in the bath and am well and truly ready for bed (and a book!)

Good night Spartans, see you in the 'morrow! :heartsmil

Awww sounds like whoever left him/her cared something for them... perhaps they were told they couldn't keep it or that it would be put down... and they were intending to visit it? Leave a note there under a rock saying it has found a good home :D That story made me kind of sad. At least it had a happy ending though! At that age it wouldn't have survived long like that - well done for taking it under your wing.

Have a great day everyone. Lunch packed. Wallet staying at home!!! SFD number 3 here I come.

Catch you all this evening :)

    Hello,

sorry been MIA since Friday as we at a wedding. Had a great time. But thinking that that small wedding was 4k (30 people, meal etc):eek:. But I guess it's maybe not that bad if you consider that also included the rings and the dress and the photographer.
Went shopping for a wee outfit for DS for the wedding on Sat and did a grocery shop yesterday. Also had to pay parking at the hotel. So I'm £47 down for food and £67 HH and extras. The hotel stay and booze went on the CC and will be paid off the next two months.

Nice sunny day here, had a BBQ yesterday with stuff from the freezer and whoopsied burgers and rolls. Today it'll be freezer and whoppsied items pasta. Might tidy the shed today and tend to my plants once DS is in bed. Should have an SFD today.

Morning everyone, first June post for me. I've updated signature to include DFD and MFD. I'm not sure how to set up overpayments to loan accounts so will overpay mortgage this month by £50 as it's our biggest debt. Will look into how to overpay tesco loan though as it was a 10yr term, taken to install double glazing and doors, and feels like it's lasting forever...

Made £19.50 on ebay last night by selling stuff I'd got for free, mainly complimentary beauty products when ordering my skincare products.

Lovely to see so many new contenders and good to see Abundant back :j

We've been away to our caravan this weekend celebrating DS1's birthday (his last year of being a teenager). The last 10 years have passed in a flash and birthdays are always a time when I feel it the most. But we had lots of laughs playing pictionary and great BBQ weather so perfect weekend was had.

I've been doing nectar adpoints so that will boost my Christmas alcohol budget as we save our nectar points all year for that.

On holiday today so might head to allotment later to weed, weed and weed some more!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.

  • Morning! Just a quick one.

I have £100 to last the whole month, plus an extra £20 which my gran gave me which I was going to try and hang on to to go out to celebrate the end of my exams but will use if I need to.

    Food £50
Dog food £30 (2 big hungry greyhounds!)
    £7.50 4xSalsa lessons with a friend

Leaving... not very much! At all!

Over the weekend I spent £20 in Asda but that's all. can't remember if food only spends count as an SFD, if so I've got 2 SFDs, if not just one.

Today is my first salsa lesson and I'm really looking forward to it :D

I've just started job hunting and have an appointment at an agency on Wednesday, hopefully it will be a productive one :)

How exciting about the kitty news :) I was very tempted by another greyhound last week, met him while I was out running and he needs a home. I've resisted so far :A but only on grounds of cash

    Hello all,

SFD for me, first one of the month.

Lionheartedgirl - it is exciting news about kitty. Abundant, I like your idea of leaving a note. I think Dad really wanted to keep him but mum said a firm no and he knew I'd be able to talk my soppy Hubby round in a click. He does mean unexpected vets bils this month but again, I'll cut back elsewhere if needs be. Health check booked for Friday morning for him.

    Grocery budget: £65/£240
    Fun budget: £15/£80
    Holiday fund: £0/£350
    ISA fund: £0£400
    Debt repayment: £0/£80
    SFDs: 1/20
