Why would you keep outdoor shoes on whilst indoors? The idea of wearing shoes in the house just seems abnormal to me as growing uo we were always encouraged to go barefoot as much as possible.
Wearing shoes all day isn't the best for your foot health and you are trampling all the outside dirt indoors.
At home obviously I change into my slippers but when visiting another home then yes I keep my shoes on. I don't wear my shoes all day.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

In your own home yes, but why would you want to bare a personal part of your body in another person's home? Would you sit on their sofa with a bare tush?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I would not wear outdoor shoes in my own house, having slippers to change into.
However, I would find it 'abnormal' and very rude if someone asked me to take off my shoes before going into their house.
My feet would be cold!
Would you ask a visiting doctor to take their shoes off?Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I find this debate to be ludicrous. Is it the cream-carpet brigade, house-pride gone mad!
Kicking off ones shoes is something to do with very close friends, in an informal situation, before putting your feet up.
And as for only allowing newspapers in the kitchen!!!

It's not at all "normal". None of friends and family would dream of asking people to remove their shoes. It is a recent invention by those daft enough to buy impractical carpets.0
