Opto-mum.. that is very sweet of your gran.. none of my family even know I am pregnant lol.. only OH and the children know and the children haven't mentioned it and neither have I. I've not seen any of my family since Dec-Jan so no one knows.. I doubt I'll get to the birth without one of them discovering it though lol.

yeah it is bless her,,,, we were going to keep it quiet untill at least my 12 week scan but family members started to ask very early on and i didn't want to lie to them :o so very close family have known from more-a-less the start .... my grandmothers mean the world to me since having my son my mum hasn't bothered the door has always been open till a few months ago and many a times i got in touch with her she hasn't had anything to do with me since my son was 2 weeks old ... i just really hope with another on the way she doesn't try and come back in my life .... due to personal reasons i would much prefer it if she stayed out of mine and my childrens life xxx apart from close family the rest probably wont find out until after ive given birth either :rotfl:

    Good morning

I went to bed at 11.30 last night, absolutely shattered after a long day and cooking for 4 friends in the evening (more gooseberry cake :D) and have been up since before 5.00 this morning. My sleep pattern always has varied with the seasons, but this is ridiculous! We are going out to lunch today and I need to still be awake at the end of the meal in order to drive us home, but fortunately I shall be able to crash out on the sofa for an hour or so afterwards.

Anyway, I can use the extra uninterrupted time well (if I can get my brain in gear!). The kitchen was all tidy before we went to bed last night, DH :A cleared the table and removed the extra leaf, and the downstairs rooms look quite presentable so I can ignore them until Tuesday (another meal with friends!) or even Friday (yet another meal with yet more friends!!!)

    To be done today:

    Finish draft reference for P
Finish list of contents for resource box type 2
Print out another set of leader's notes
Pack up two resource boxes (identical contents)
Print off and affix new labels with our new address on 9 boxes + 3 extra labels to send to colleague for the resource boxes she holds
    Pack 2 parcels
    Tidy my desk
Cut DH's hair (no.2 all over) and get him to trim mine :money:
    Shower
    Church
Arrange duty swap for next Sunday
Arrange meal with 2 more friends who were ill and had to cancel (have we still got a free evening???)
Lunch out (don't forget to take the flowers;))
Post 3 letters and a birthday card
Fold Thursday's washing (still in its crate at the foot of the bed)
HHI x???? this evening to clear large pile of ironing, while watching TV

Another cuppa and then I'll get see what I can do... Packing starts in earnest tomorrow and I need all this lot out of the way today. I shall be well pleased if I clear the list :p

Sorry to hear about your problems with your mother, CY - I went through similar problems with my mother which were only resolved when she became too confused to deal with her own affairs and I got Power of Attorney.

Hi, quick message to all with interest in Power of Attorney: I have been advised, by friends with experience in these matters, to sort this out sooner, rather than later.
Yes, before you need it for yourself or others.
Otherwise, you may be stuck in some kind of limbo till The Powers That Be sort you out. :(

    Morning all

Valli - sounds like you had a pleasant evening. I loved that film, too. I remember picking DS1 up from a Muse concert at a cricket ground in Manchester a few years ago. DS2 and I were parked some distance away and could still hear the last few songs. Sounded great.

I had a bit of a lie-in, but cleaned the bathroom sink and bath before going downstairs. Tidied and washed a few pots while I was waiting for the kettle to boil and then I caught up with fred.

This morning I'll do a couple of hours of planning and then I really need to go shopping before marking books this afternoon. I'm teaching in lots of different rooms over the next four weeks, so I'll need to be really organised. It will feel very strange without my 'own' space.

There's a bit more laundry to do (one lot to come in, one to go out and towels will need washing), tea to cook and food to plan for tomorrow (Tea for 3, DS1's food for work and supper when he's back home).

    Have a good day, everyone.

Lovely start to the day.. waking up with massive stomach cramps.. :(

Since wake up.. at least 3 hours too early, Dot spilled weetos on the kitchen floor, I made breakfast, got clothes on.. and am about to start clearing some of this rubbish from my room.. back to back HHC's so feel free to jump in. I WILL have this reasonable today if it kills me.. and it might well do that given how awful I feel today.

    Good morning everyone

WM is on with 1st load.

2nd load will be a never worn dressing gown given to me for Christmas 2011. It's lovely, but several sizes too small, and has been sat in a bag. Dilemma - do I then put it into the CS bag, or do I store it under my bed ( in a drawer I hasten to add)? I do want/need to lose weight - more than several sizes worth :o :( Which will I regret more: getting rid of it then wanting it or keeping it and then not wanting it? Decision made: I'm going to store it ....for now.... I don't want to get 'stuck' on one item, when there are truck-loads of other 'no-brainer' stuff to sort.

I've also found a Planner - with an address book section, every year calendar, and a go for it goals planning/achieved section (another Christmas 2011 gift). I'm going to transfer information across and use it :T:j.

I guess this is the up side of being a hoarder and having a poor memory - it's like having Christmas again :).

I hope you are all enjoyng your Sunday

My Sunday has started well, bed stripped, washed and blowing on the line. Sorted out clothes to take to be weighed in - 1 black bag full. 3 bags of rubbish and an old ironing board in the car ready for a trip to the tip. Finally decided to throw out the vanity case my hairdryer came in three years ago as I have never put the hairdryer in it since the day I got it:o
Second load in WM, will go to the tip once it is on the line.

Roundtuit... get rid of it.. it will sit there gathering dust and mildew when someone could benefit.. realistically how likely is it you will fit in it in the next year? Do you know anyone who could make use of it? If not CS it!!! It is a thing which is of no use to anyone in your household therefore a useless thing therefore not needed.

I have retrieved a roll of binbags from downstairs told OH the naughties are not allowed upstairs and had 3 mouthfuls of my cuppa.. I really need a rocket somewhere intimate!

I agree with Piggers; saving stuff 'just in case' is a waste of time - it's taking up space.

space in your room BUT also space in your life - when we have possessions we have responsibilites to 'look after' them - ie keep them clean etc. Possessions which aren't being used are burdens which weigh you down.

What you could do is offer it to an old people's home or a hospice (depends what you have locally) where someone might use it...that might make you feel better about getting rid.

Kids back home safely. I stayed up and waited (to their surprise). There was a bad RTA here yesterday, with fatalities:(
