Evening all
I've just had a quick look at the thread but didn't retain much, so hugs, spoons and congrats as appropriate.
OH and I had an excellent time with DS2 at the Royal Armories in Leeds. We paid to see a falconry display which was particularly good (I'm going to take DS to York to the birds of prey center they came from, as they were fab). It was worth it just to see DS2's face when he was allowed to stroke a barn owl and hold a peregrine falcon. :T
DS2 and I then went to see friends 'down the road', who have very kindly offered to have him for a couple of days next week (he has two weeks off and I only have one).
Nothing else achieved other than starting DW/WM before we went out this morning and making lunch for DS1 to take to work. It's a bit late to start on my paperwork as all the stuff is in the 'cupboard under the stairs' off DS2's room. I can't even get into it at the moment and it would stop him from getting to sleep. Maybe I'll straighten and dust the bookcase in the front room while watching TV. OH is out and DS1 at work, so I've got peace and quiet for a bit.
I might run on sugar and fury tomorrow (thanks, pigpen) - just asked OH to help with the cellar/garden shed again. Won't be making that mistake again. Can't believe he doesn't want to support me after I put so much effort into everything over the last few weeks.
Time to check e-mails as our grey bin is still full, despite contacting the council yesterday. I'll be back tomorrow. x0 -

TMD - Pro re nata is a Latin phrase meaning "in the circumstances" or "as the circumstance arises."[1] It is commonly used in medicine to mean "as needed" or "as the situation arises." It is generally abbreviated to p.r.n. in reference to dosage of prescribed medication that is not scheduled; instead administration is left to the nurse/caregiver or the patient's prerogative.[2] Such administration of medication is not meant to imply, and should never allow for, exceeding a given daily dosage. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Pigpen - don't know if it would help but when I had toe surgery (severely infected ingrown toenails - 7 ops) I used to put a big box at the foot of the bed with a blanket/cloth/towel folded in it to rest my feet inside, then draped blankets/quilts over to keep the weight off. Hope it's better very soon.
lambanana - brilliant news re: PPI & WM
lampshadebrown - welcome. I'm a lapsed flyer, recently returned. You'll get help, moral support, motivation etc here.
mrs-moneypenny - thank you. SABLE work will be undertaken shortly when I work on current knitting project.
Well, it's been a good day in the office today with meetings etc. I was nominated by a colleague for employee of the month, didn't get it but was thrilled to be chosen. |She said I'd been very helpful to her as a new employee.I had actually nominated the same collegaue for the way she had fitted in with the team and willingly offered to do a Health & Safety Inspection for me as I have no available diary space, and she also went out to unfamiliar settings to get employer signatures for other members of the team. Unfortuantely HR made a mistook so her's wasn't on this month. She wasked what I'd said about her and I've told her she's got to wait till next month to find out.

Dinner eaten. DH is really good at this cooking lark and it keeps him out of mischief - and he's done some of the flying jobs. As soon as I came in from work I took DogStar for a walk, then did some flying myself. Having had a lovely bubble bath (anything to try to help these aches till tomorrow), I am now sitting with feet up, catching up on thread and watching Spring Watch. I was just coming off the M4 at Tredegar House on the way to work this am and saw a jay fly across and settle in a tree.
Working from home in the morning, then off to Ebbw Vale for some paperwork, then Cardiff to complete two learners. I love that part of my job almost as much as the next bit which is delivering their certificates.
Anyway, I'm off to do some knitting, so I'll say goodnight all, sleep well & God bless. Hugs, sticks and spoons - PRN. xxx

Not caught up with thread so hugs, spoons, sticks etc as appropriate
I would really love to know where today has gone! I don't seem to have achieved much of anything. Then again I'm shattered so thats not helped.
So my list for today:
[STRIKE]Change beds[/STRIKE] - just about to go and make mine back up. DD already doing hers.
[STRIKE] Baths for both of us[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Wash up - DD[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Laundry x 4 loads (including bedding I hope!)[/STRIKE] One more of towels to do tomorrow but I managed to get all the clothing/bedding done
[STRIKE]Paperwork - DD, she can finish sorting through her old school work and put all the paper recycling out that she's creating[/STRIKE] I'm going to have a go through it as well. Something tells me it can be pruned a little more.
Paperwork - me, [STRIKE]paid stuff,[/STRIKE] fix something for DD on her homework so she can get it printed,[STRIKE] finances, email[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Tea - going to see if DD wants to attempt to make something other than pasta or pizza:rotfl: [/STRIKE] We had GYO (aka "Get your own" so sandwich, cup-a-soup, whatever but you fend for yourself
)
On that note I best go make my bed otherwise it won't be done at bedtime :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hi everyone
It's been a frustrating day today. We should have been able to exchange contracts, but apparently none of the other solicitors could get hold of their clients to obtain final permission. I was the only one at home (doing computer work) and answering the phone! Try again tomorrow...
I've chewed hard on a big frog today, dealing with it like an elephant, one bit at a time, though it's still only part gone. Managed to save myself some postage by emailing files to my colleague that are needed this weekend, and now I can send the non-urgent stuff by 2nd class post
The house is being neglected and beginning to resemble a tip again, but packing will begin in earnest next week, I hope, and then it will look even worse. DH threw out 6 shirts todayI just wish he would deal with his old computer too and transfer the files that he wants to keep onto his laptop. He spent nearly an hour this morning trying to change a fluorescent tube in the garage  until I found a helpful film on YouTube.
Must chew a bit more frog before bedtime. Please help yourselves to spoons, hugs, sticks etc as needed - I have skimmed through the list but not made a proper note of who needs what; however I know that I'm by no means the only one trying to deal with a DH's black dog, so special hugs to fellow-sufferers. Pain-free vibes to skint and pigpen, and here's hoping you get a good night's sleep.
Oh yes, and congrats to LW on getting your skirt mended and to mrs-mp for sewing the buttons on at last
The forecast says it will be sunny here tomorrow: best get the WM on overnight!0 -

Well some things have been done this week in the Skint Ritz/Pitz after all.
I have rubbed through a big plastic bin (3ft high) of DD4 nappies ready for a nice boil wash (albeit I will have to split the contents as it is too heavy to lug downstairs on my own)
All the bins emptied cleaned and contents outside for binmen tomorrow (although thinking about it being BHMonday this week, they probably wont come til Saturday morning)
Lots of ebaying (buying not selling) and sniping going on here, for things I know I will need in next few months loaded onto CC before I tart it away on a 0% while I still have them being offered to me :money:
Got two decent bundles of 6-9 month stuff for DD4 tonight for £4.99 each, a local one, so no postage to pay (saved £9 per bundle on postage alone :money:) collecting from her place of work 1/4 mile from my home, but will get DD1 to come with me for the walk to save me freaking out and will get my meds that have been waiting for me at Pharmacy since Tues (I just can't face seeing them in there, they are always so nice to me, I feel bad as the BD has been making a nuisance of itself and I don't like them seeing me at my worst)
DD3 laptop and printer arrived ready for Uni. :j
Need to start sorting out spare bedding and stuff ready for them to both go away in September and then either bung rest back in loft or CS if it is good enough
DS had an accident on LR carpet, which he hasn't done for ages (EX turned up as a surprise today as half term, not sure if this is why?) although it has had a quick rub through, I need to crack out the vax again and give it a good going over (hmmmm, just need to find a spare 6 hours to get that done,)
Picked a few dandelion clocks to stop them spreading their seeds everywhere on the way in and out of the house, but both front and back need a good de-weeding session, but can't face being outside as the animal lady that caused me a load of trouble with flooding a few months back is making a nuisance of herself again
Ready to skip the country as truly had enough......anyone fancy joining me? :rotfl:
DS now has to be forced to sleep as all out of sorts otherwise it will be morning before I know it.
Hugs sticks and spoons, please help yourselvesThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
