re PPI.. if I had a claim I would approach someone and request their assistance. I would never ever use one of the text/cold calling scammers. I'd research who took the lowest cut and compare with success rates etc. If I had the time and patience to do it myself I would. I got £4500 back on bank charges lots of years ago and had a company sort that as I just didn't have time.

Lambanana - Congrats on the PPI - Sorry to be nosey, however, did you do it all yourself through this site, or through a company? I had a dig around in my paperwork and I don't think I have a claim to put in, however I often receive phone calls/texts from companies offering to chase up on my behalf. My suspicious nature says "scammers", but I don't have time to get to the bottom of this under my own steam. What do you guys think? Put it into the hands of someone else or dig deep and find some va-va-voom? My lazy side is saying, it's money I never had, so let someone do the work for me and take a "cut".
Cold-callers and unsolicited texts are deffo scammers imho. I get loads of such texts, some of them even saying how much they reckon I'm owed, and I can state, quite definitely, that I have never had PPI in my life, so they are talking rubbish. I just report 'em all as Spam (forward to 7726 to do this).

I agree with Piggers - if you feel the need to have professional help, choose the company yourself, don't go with one who pesters you. But I don't think it should be too hard to do yourself - I bet Martin has something on this site to help you!

I've done one new membership and one renewal - only three weeks left to have to do this job.:T Assuming, of course, that the new lady doesn't get cold feet. While I had the pc on, I cobbled together a "welcome to your new home" card for an old work colleague who has just moved house.:o

I have been doing my own flying this week as work is consuming me a bit too much and I know I will relax more once everything is ship shape there. I have exactly 7 days to get everything in order and I am slowly getting there by nibbling at frogs. I have also used my able assistant properly and not only giving her things to do when she asks if she can help but also delegating tasks in the first place. The only thing is I now don't know where I have got to and what still needs doing so I am going to go through my numerous lists and try and consolidate them in to one. I am going away tomorrow for the weekend but am going to try a couple of hours at work first and then take the computer related stuff away with me to complete in the evenings. I would like to make next week as painless as possible for me.

Going to jump in the shower now and try and make myself presentable for my first proper meeting with Mr AJMs son at 8. Then I need to pack and make a list for work.

    Hi all

Was out from 11-3 but my kitchen has been "done". I made a start this morning and removed the window and door curtains (now washed and on airers), washed windows, door and woodwork, dewebbed, swept and...

    Wait for it!

    Cleaned the oven :T :rotfl:

I did half this morning and just finished the other side now. Even to glass in the doors has been scrubbed and scraped and all the tiny baked in grease spots are gone! Racks are just drying then it can all go back in and that's my kitchen finito.

I've even swept the floor (was mopped other day so just wiped around where I've been cleaning the cooker).

So other than our play date and all getting hair cut, that's it. It's taken all my spare time to do the kitchen, but Tis done now!

Off to bath kiddies as we are all itchy after hair cutting, then they are going to bed! The toys can stay out as they'll want them in the morning.

I might have a bit of a pamper night and do a treatment on my hair, sort my nails and possibly loofah my feet. If we are getting sunshine I may want to brave some sandals!

To get cold callers off the line I ask where did you get this number, they usually hang straight up.

No more anything doone other than a trip to MrL - used the £5 off thank you Martin. Got their pegs to try for windy days and a leg cushion for FiL for FDay.

Just doing dinner then popping to a neighbours for some jewellery party thing - free wine and more chat.

You need this link for Martin's guide on reclaiming it. I never had it because I knew what it was in the first place and never allowed CC companies to apply it to my accounts!

Back from my sisters. I have brought back 1 fcuk gift set which (for some reason) BIL had in the cellar. It will have been an unwanted/unused xmas gift. The bottles have been given to DS to 'use up'; the facecloth has gone in the wash but the wash bag is binned because it is 'cellar-musty' if that makes sense. I also have a new handbag - one she decided she didn't want (and it's new) and handcream - because my hands are dry.
We dropped by other sisters on the way back, I have now seen the bungalow my neice bought which will be on Under the Hammer; next year probably. There's lots to do but an excellent location!

I need to tidy up here a bit - and iron.
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY
