  • Not too bad a week, I managed 4 NSD's and had several meals on expenses :j Today I'm going to go through the direct debits etc and see if there's anything else that can be cut or found cheaper online. On the running front it seems to be getting easier and dare I say it I'm starting to enjoy it, well hate it less at least

  • Pay day really can't come soon enough this month, only the weekend to get through but am feeling very skint :(

On the plus side I had a good week away and am home again after a week traveling over what felt like most of the UK, so I have made a few pounds in expenses to boot :T I'd also completely forgotten that I'd blitzed the house before I left & haven't got any cleaning to do. It seems such a simple thing but it really made me smile as I walked in. Could this be a new resolution? Clean thoroughly before I go away, it costs nothing, puts me in a great mood when I get back and means my treasured weekends at home start off positively.

  • Well it's pay day again which made my account look healthy for all of a couple of hours, until I transfered a chunk of cash to the dreaded CC that is :( On the plus side the CC balance is definitely looking better and hopefully by next June this monthly payment will start going towards savings :j

The running is going well but my knees are screaming at me to take up chess instead. So following loads of advice online and from sporty friends at work, I went for a proper running shoe fitment today. It involved walking and running with and without shoes around the shop, (I felt a right idiot) several filmed runs on a treadmill, (they made me sign a disclaimer in case I dropped dead, so obviously my new svelte physique still needs some work) and computer analysis of my running gate (I'm neutral, how boring :rotfl:) Oh and £95:00 whipped out of my current account  I do however now own a pair of decent running shoes. I've since checked online and could have definitely got them a bit cheaper mail order. However the salesman who really did appear to know what he was talking about, did spend an hour with me, I got to try loads of different pairs and the film and analysis of my running style, or rather lack of it, was very informative.

Oh well back to work tomorrow so better put on my new investments and hit the pavement

Sounds great which shop did you go to for that? Not wanting to run, but do walk a fair bit.

  • Hi Calling, I went to up & running, they seem to have stores all over? For walking shoes/boots I prefer one of the outdoors shops, although I might sneakily try them on in store then hunt online for a better deal. It didn't feel right to do this with the running shoes though as the salesman had spent so much time with me. My next pair however......:rotfl:

Not the greatest Money Saving week as I paid for a ski holiday  but I haven't had a holiday since last year and I refuse to not have any fun or I'll never keep the debt repayment up :)

I have done it as cheaply as possible, a friend has given us his apartment for a bargain price, I hunted long and hard online for cheap flights and car rental. Now just have to save some pennies for a lift pass and maybe even eating :rotfl: ok wine.

NSD today and plan on at least 4 next week as the bank account already looks decidedly scary considering it's only the beginning of the month!

The running has been difficult this week as my knees have been killing me, years of abuse skiing seem to be taking their toll but I've just cut down the distance and days run and am persevering :j
