How to sack a childminder? new one hired

Im a childminder, and im horrified about what your 'childminder' (i use the term loosly, shes not doing much minding!!!) is doing.
All i can say, is i second everything that 2005Claire says - good luck and i hope OFSTED do take your complaint seriously.0 -
I apologise for my clumsy phrasing, threadhead, this is my first time being involved with childcare, as I have been a SAHM for 8 years. I have absolutely no experience of this kind of thing or how I go about it, Hubby just wants to quietly leave step back from the situation as no real harm came to our boy, but I feel it's gone a bit far for that.
It's certainly going to make for some awkward moments in the playground though which I really wanted to avoid.0 -
Great advice claire
I use to childmind and always encouraged the parents to ask lots of questions.
I had my registration document, and all certifcates in a folder along with my behaviour rules and other inmportant information.
I always encouraged the parents to take a walk about the house and garden to get a feel for where there children would be cared for.
I think if there are any problems then they should always be reported, remember also that it is always worth checking the credentials of a childminder before signing contractsIts a jungle out there...0 -

(((hugs))) just think its the children you are doing it for
she cannot be allowed to get away with her unsafe practices !!!
and like someone said previously ,you only know the things you have witnessed
there may be many more ways in which she is lacking in providing basic care & safety ( and common sense  )

Thanks. I have been having a few doubts as to whether I have done the right thing in repoting her.
Thanks to you all for your helpful replies:)
There's no doubt at all that you've done the right thing, both for your own child and for every other one in the CM's care
We've been lucky with a wonderful childminder, who takes her job so seriously, her car is a Ford Galaxy super dooper model which has INTEGRAL child seats!!! And this is a woman whose own children are grown up!0 -
A CM where I live was recently struck off for strapping kids into car seats- unfortunately it was in her home and was used to restrain them as she was looking after loads of them and didn't actually know all of their names.
If someone hadn't reported her when they got suspicious then she would have been still doing this to toddlers/young kids.
