Kettlebells are great, but I'd advise going to at least one class as they're also easy to hurt yourself with if you do the wrong techniques!

    Thanks for this.
We have a shake weight at the moment-it's ok but my DD says (and I quote) "kettle bells are way better'. She goes to the gym regularly-3 or 4 times a week.

I accidentally had a personal kettlebell class last week - nobody else showed up lol :) I loved it! Not quite as good as powerlifting, but nearly :)

sometimes i meet people and they comment on how intelligent etc i am ... i kinda look at them and think eh that's common sense to me i aint that clever... now sometimes i am stunned by how dozy i can be, today for instance

it finally dawned on me something that i should have figured out a long long time ago.

el ... when the belt you are wearing gets too loose change it to the next belt, dont wait till y ou can get it down another wee bit cause you know what happens ... you eat more and the weight goes back up and the belt gets tighter and you need to start from scratch again... if you change to the other belt it may just stop you eating crap and piling the weight on again ...

DUH ... ever feel like slapping you head ... today i was pulling up my trousers after going to the toilet and i was thinking sigh this belt was so loose on me a few weeks ago now its getting tight again, how can i stop myself from getting to the stage where its too tight again, ehhh change to your new belt dummy

now can you see why i sometimes look at those that say i am intelligent and think eh thats common sense i aint that clever

i got the other belt on :j:j:j:j:j:j:j... yes it isnt even in the first proper hole, but the other belt was as tight as it would go and it was still slightly loose so i grabbed the new belt out and have managed to get it into the first hole that is part of the pattern, i have left my other belt hanging up by i fully intend on not using it again ( just keeping it incase this belt gets sore if it is too tight)

i was at the dr's again and they are concerned about my Bp so i really need to get on top of my health, i had to stop excercising for a wee bit there due to the nasty clegg bite but have managed to walk a bit now and managed to do some excercises at work...

i have also been put onto days for a couple of months as there is another girl on long term sick and the supervisor said she will only accept me working in her place ( she has wanted me on days for years)

so hopefully that will help with getting a routine organised.

i have started juicing with beetroot etc for my Bp it isnt great but the truth of the fact is i would rather that than swallowing tablets

how is everyone else doing ?

Had a busy weekend work wise, I am shattered and once again seem to have this pounding headache, I'm not sure if its night shift related or not but its crippling me, I can think straight or do much with it

Exercise wise I cycled the other night and intend on either walking or tread milling it tonight depending on the weather, have started a couple of days juicing to try and clear my system, this may also be the cause of the headache but I'm not sure

That's about all for now, still plodding along and trying to work out what way is best for me

Well been having a few bad days with this juicing malarkey, I'm on day five tomorrow and if I ain't better and managing by then then I am done, I ain't putting my body through this crap

I never thought that juicing was going to be my way of life, in fact I am doing it for one purpose and one purpose only, to loose enough weight so that my Bp comes down, once it's down I will revert back to my low carb eating, I quite like low carb and find it the easiest to do out of all the ways of eating

Thanks for resurrecting this thread Tatty :)

Yes i badly need to get started as April isnt long away ( yep you are right )

Ok a quick update as to where i am currently.

Well last December i finally finished with the night shift job, Night shift was really a problem for me, it had to go but i couldnt find a way in which to make it end.

Eventually i decided to go back to uni, so i started in September 2014 and it is a full time course 45 weeks per year ( normal university courses are 35 weeks per year) with 3x7 week placements on top per year, i have done one placement and found my eating and energy terrible, working 13.5 hour shifts that were heavy and hard going took a lot out of me, on top of that i also had to work 20 hours per week in my job to bring money in so was working 60.5 hours per week, now i did this for years and expected i could manage it again but the truth is it took so much out of me. I need to get things in place so that when i am on my next placement i will be able manage things.

Other than that I have been struggling with eating and exercising, and this NEEDS to change for me if i am going to be healthy, and i desperately want to be healthy

So here i am again, thanks to Tatty, i am going to start, i dont have long till my time runs out and i dont expect to make much headway before then so maybe i will need to have a wee extension:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    right i'm ready ...

    Welcome back El! :T
    Yep, not long.
Nights took their toll on me too! So I quit working nights. Still in retail, but more hours, days. Work from home.
I stopped smoking too. So I now weigh more-desperately need to lose weight.
I have started to eat more healthily and I've tentatively started exercising again!
Let's kick some !!! with this thing El! :rotfl: :D
