A few people have said about not keeping fruit in the fridge, apart from soft fruits. I live close to farmer's fields and if I leave fruit in a bowl, it gets covered in small flies. So it lives in the fridge instead.
As for wine, well, I'm teetotal so I don't have any in the house usually . At the moment there is a bottle in the cupboard - someone gave it to my daughter (she does drink alcohol, but prefers vodka and doesn't drink wine at all). I'm not sure if she's passing it to someone, or whether it will end up at the school fair.
Although my fridge is regularly sorted and cleaned, the same ca't be said for my cupboards . I had a sort out today, and have to admit to throwing out some very out of date stuff. A bit out of date, I don't mind, but when it's almost a year, I really don't fancy trying it! i try to sort my cupboards every six months, if only to find what is buried in there :rotfl:. Obviously I have failed to keep this up
However, I did find lurking in my cupboard, and all in date:
13 tins of chopped tomatoes
7 tins of tuna
7 tins of baked beans
9 packs of instant pasta and sauce (for daughter's lunches at work)
5 packs of instant rice
6 packets of different types of pasta, some opened, some not
3 tins of mackerel (I've never tried it, but will do one day :rotfl:)
5 tins of mushy peas
5 bottles of tomato ketchup
There were also variouos other jars, packets, tins, bottles, etc - I just didn't realise what a collection I had of some foods
Along with the freezer (seven drawers, mostly full), and the fridge, I think I can safely say we won't starve0 -
Amongst other things I once again have frozen cucumber, frozen pepper, frozen mushrooms, frozen lettuce and frozen cherry tomatoes. Fridge is on the blink and I'm not impressed! :mad:0

I like this thread! I have a rather odd (eclectic?) mix of things in my fridge at the moment:
Almond milk
lemon juice
Smoothie (apple/kiwi and mango/coconut)
real milk
White wine
little bottles of french lager
chorizo
chicken thighs
yogurts
half of a black forest cheesecake
pate
one red pepper
cherry tomatoes
cucumber
parmigiana cheese
curry paste
dill pickles (gherkins)
eggs
a bowl of bolognese sauce (leftover from last night's supper)
some roast chicken (leftover from tonight's supper)
clover spread
I'm glad I have relatively full cupboards and a freezer because I don't think I could rustle up a proper meal with that lot!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
