Told new car had blutooth but it doesn't
Was told when choosing new car that it had bluetooth, hubby has picked it up and it doesn't. Hubby doesn't see what the fuss is, but I don't like being missold anything. I agreed to dearer model as hubby liked it - even though I am going to be driving it - and I can use the bluetooth with my iphone handsfree when in the car (mainly for music). I know it isn't the main feature to worry about when buying a car but I would have gone for a more basic model, this was the only feature I was excited about. It really burst my bubble.
Hubby says don't worry he made a mistake, forget about it, but I feel ripped off.

Can anyone recommend a bluetooth radio/ system? hubby can pay for one to be fitted if he doesn't want to make a fuss with dealer.0

When you say 'new', do you mean brand new?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

If it was on the spec sheet then it is a big deal as you have paid for it.Check if this is the case,it may not be a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it would have added value when the time comes to sell the car on again.
If it was sold as having bluetooth and your willing to accept the car insist the dealer makes amends either with free servicing to the value of bluetooth or cashback.0 -
Yes brand new car, we bought the actual car from the showroom which had upgrades not included on the base model. Which was why I asked about Bluetooth. It is a Chevrolet spark 1.2ltz.
I have spoken to salesman and he said that none of these models have Bluetooth and he can't recall saying it did. I explained that I could recall the conversation clearly and reminded about it, that I had taken out my iphone, taken a photo of the car and text my daughter with the photo telling her in the text about the Bluetooth and we had spoken about how myself and my daughter love gadgets. He says he will fit a handsfree Bluetooth visor kit foc but I said that's not was I was looking for I was lead to believe it had fully functioning Bluetooth fir streaming music and audio.
Have left it with him getting back to me Monday with what else he can offer.
I should have checked myself and not taken his word for it, don't know whether to accept alterations to the audio system June or put it down to me needing to be more thorough next time.0 -
Just looked at the specs for the Chevrolet spark 1.2ltz. Dosn't appear to have blue tooth as an option, only USB connection.
Surely if blue tooth was a feature you wanted, you would of gone for a model that had it? It's available on the Aveo LT apparently (which is just under £500 more than the Spark 1.2LTZ)PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. Spot on.
If they don't have it. You've been offered a free aftermarket Bluetooth system, I am not sure there is much more they can possibly do for you OP.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
It says a lot about the car if the most exciting thing about it is the Bluetooth it doesn't have.
Can't you just add something like this...

Do you mean you want to play music through a bluetooth earpiece or mini-speaker while driving? Out of interest, why would you want to do that when you have a much better sound system built into the car? I understand wanting this for phone calls, but not for music...0 -
I don't doubt for a second the salesman did indeed say it had bluetooth.
I've been looking for a replacement car for the last few weeks, the amount of misinformation I've had from several dealers has been astounding. One tried to tell me the car I was looking at was in the £30 road tax band when it was really £120 and another told me a specific model had a usb connection and it actually didn't.
If there was nothing on paper to confirm the spec then it's your word against his and I don't think you'll get anything more than his offer to fit an after market system.
What would you like to happen ideally?
(Btw, I wouldn't be as accepting as your husband appears to be, I agree with your pov.)Herman - MP for all!
