Asda have bags of mini chocolate santas - there are about 10 in the bag and they cost £2.

It is the santa used on the sleigh in the first post of this thread:

  • I bought some of Lidl's 'Favorina' little elves bags. There are 8 in a bag and look like mini father christmases. Think they are around 79p or 99p a bag in the Christmas chocolates area. Perfect size for my kitkat sleighs.

hiya all - they have candy canes and mini candy canes in poundland as well as chocolate santas.

working on the theory the more shops named the more likely everyone will be able to get to one locally.

I guess the posher jars do look gd, I've used some normal jam jars for jam for xmas (did buy 4 little ones for £1 from £1world), but any big jars I use, I'm going to cut a circle of fabric. xx

Thank u for the tip for standard vinegar - found nice recipie online for dried apricot and pear chuntey - takes my fancy xx

Morrison have the vinegars for about 50 -70p a bottle. 250 ml, so usually don't need more than 2 bottles per chutney. (in the mayonnaise aisle).

the bottles are then reused in my house for sloe gin etc, they work out cheaper then buying them specifically. I plan to use a bit of raffia type string with a parcel tag to label them decorated with a button, and maybe a bow for the ladies.

we also reuse the booze bottles that we have 'flavoured'. as well as glass pop bottles from the local shop... we always soak off the labels, and either buy corks or use the lids - we just add nice labels to detract from the mismatch effect.
