"You should have kissed him longer he would have bought you the bigger one!" Way to make me feel like a prostitute!

Im so sorry Penguin but I literally just choked on my council pop then......it did make me laugh which today I very much needed.....:)

    Some people are so cheeky.

I recently got engaged to my partner of 11 years, my ring I think is beautiful - its perfect. A simple black stone set in a silver ring with a white stone either side......I dont know how much its worth and I dont care, I dont know if the stones are fancy things and you guessed it I dont care....its perfect and I love it and him proposing was special and I loved it.

My SIL who lives by brands, her first comment was 'well wheres the diamond then?' and then she insisted on trying to look up my ring on the computer to see how much it had cost him. :( the world is a very sad place unfortunately.
    Time to find me again

I still wear the wedding ring my late OH bought for me in 1962.He was very broke as was I and I remember it cost £4.00 and was second-hand in a shop in Oxford.Over the years as we got better off he said he would replace it for a more expensive one but I said no I put it on the day I got married and its never been off my finger since It is gold and gold in those days was all you could buy for a wedding ring.I am happy with it and it will go with me to my grave still on the finger he put it on all those years ago when I was young, broke but absolutely dotty about him.Bless him, its not the cost of things that matter its the love and thoughts that make it special.May your DD enjoy her ring and think of you everytime she sees it even when you are gone and she is an old woman like me :):):)

    Xmas Saver!
Can anyone recommend somewhere to get baskets for hampers please?

I want to make my friend a nail care hamper with a nail oil pen, instant nail polish remover pot, a Nails Inc polish bought in their lucky dip and a 99p OPI polish.

I got my baskets in Home Bargains. They were a couple of pound each.

I was in home bargain 2ngt and they had some nice whicker baskets for £1.99, with small handles bit smaller than a tray size - theyre really good quailty as I got some last year.

Did notice they have a range of trays in Xmas theme - larger ones £1.99 and there was some mid size and sandwich style -- all could be used as bases for xmas.

Anyone doing hampers / pamper hampers etc - they had great little mini photo frames 29p for 2, and keyrings put photos in for 69p.

Best bargain in £1land - they had bags of sweets - like spaceships with sherbert in them they had Disney cars and Disney princee themes 3 for £1 - got 6 bags going to put them into some cello bags.... look more expensive!

It was spending ngt, Poundlworld, Home bargains and Asda - got some items for xmas prezzies, hamper goodies and tins of sweets....hopefully all sorted
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Where do you get your bottles for the alcohol for presents. I would like to give sloe gin as presents but never found anything suitable to put it in.

This may have already been posted as I can't keep up with this thread everyday, but i saw nice bottles and jars in a large Sainsbury's the other day (Thetford). They were pretty cheap, £2 odd? Might help.
Also, on Pinterest there are some ideas on how to decorate ordinary jars etc.

  • Wilkos have Glade candles reduced to £2 at the moment... they have some lovely seasonal scents. Also, they have 12 packs of candy canes for £1... I'm not sure how that compares to other stores but they were striped red, white and green and looked so festive that I immediately purchased two packs!

I love the sleighs and will definitely do them for my nieces, nephews, godchildren and colleagues! Thank you for a lovely idea :)

Has anyone seen little chocolate Father Christmases yet? I like the idea of having them on the front.

Hi, can I join please, just love this thread, started my Christmas preparations last night, still along way to go, does any one have any ideas on pressies for a fiver, I'm struggling have 7 to get for children and 9 to get for adults. I want them to look like I've made an effort, its so wierd how I'm putting Christmas before having my woodburner fitted, I think my priorities are all wrong! Now that im thinking about it I may suggest the I just buy for the children.
