+1 for crucial - You can't go wrong and they are competitive on price.

Aren't you glad that you have such sharp minds advising you?

You have 2GB of DDR3 1333MHz in one slot and perhaps would like another 2GB in the other.

    Crucial £16.79

    Offtek £14.04

I didn't say he had to buy the ram from them, but it's an easy way to find exact specs for the system and get guaranteed compatible ram - also 2.75 isn't the end of the world

Didn't say they were the cheapest - I think I said they were competitive.

Ok, realistically what should I put in to upgrade the ram, not going overboard with paying too much for ram im not going to use in terms of what I do or need.

If he wants cheapest then eBay is dirt cheap. I upgraded from 3GB to 8GB so had a 2 and a 1 left - after looking at the prices of 2nd hand memory on there I cba to list it. Figure about £2 - £3.

All depends on how much RAM you want to upgrade to.
There are options on the page that you need to look at and need to decide what you require and how much you want to pay.
