what did you get married in?

We were married in our last parish church as I'm a Christian (and proud of it). This was almost 13 years ago and we had a brilliant day. Lots of family from all over the world (Oz, USA, Spain) and lots of friends and loads of young children...a really happy day. Now 13 years later and 2 lovely daughters and we're still very happy, apart from the usual stresses of life (eg work).0

Neither of us are religious so are getting married in a hotel, although the room we are getting married in used to be a church and still looks like one, so best of both worlds really.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

My Pastor in the UK wouldn't necessarily turn a divorcee away (he interviews the couple and takes each marriage on its own merits). He married my husband's cousin and her partner and both of them had been married twice before. They had to agree to attend church for three months.
If you can't find someone like my Pastor (he's in Wolverhampton, don't know where you are), try a Methodist Church - they don't usually have any objection to divorcees.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

You beat me. I got married in a register office 10 months after meeting my OH. Wore a very pretty dress, but it wasn't a "wedding dress". Still together 5 years later.
Yes, they beat us too! Married four months after meeting on a blind date, I wore an evening dress an 'ex' had bought me.
We have been married 36 years this October.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

We got married in a Las Vegas wedding chapel by an off-duty Rabbi!
Ended up spending the holiday looking after relatives and not ourselves and tbh wish it had have been just us.
We went to Vegas, just the two of us,had been together six years,no previous marriages, one child together who was only two so left behind with a minder- and yes, I admit,we did think it would have been nice to have a few of our favourite family members there with us- but that only lasted a few seconds and we carried on doing what weddingmooners do best- having a great time starting life as a married couple, without interference from our family.
The ceremony cost $250 including limo, flowers, video, photography and witness.:money: I'd do it all again tomorrow, especially if it included the hot air balloon, the helicopter down into the Canyon and three days in San Francisco.
It was in the 'Las Vegas Wedding Chapel' (https://www.lvchapel.com) and done by a proper minister, although God was kind of optional:p - she gave us the choice of adding God into the wording or not,. The ceremony was more sincere than either of us expected, and felt very emotional, just the same as it would have anywhere else in the world. I had full length white gown on, DH had full highland dress.-by dress I mean he was wearing his tartan skirt;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

We got married nearly 9 years ago in the Domincan Republic on a very hot day. We decided this as the previous year my dad died and I couldn't face walking down the aisle without him. It was lovely and we had a huge reception upon our return!!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

We got married last week in Las Vegas in a wedding chapel. It was fab, totally unexpected, great fun. No family or crowds to please. Ive done the white wedding in church the first time round and I honestly prefer the Vegas job! I was surprised by my husband the day before we flew out. when we arrived we went to the court house for the licence then bought our clothes and ring, then booked a chapel! The photos are actually better than my first (church) wedding photos.0

We got married nearly 28 years ago in a church. I was baptised in it and my siblings had got married there before me. At the time it never entered my head to do otherwise. I knew I would have a major revolt on my hands if I did.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
