You beat me. I got married in a register office 10 months after meeting my OH. Wore a very pretty dress, but it wasn't a "wedding dress". Still together 5 years later.0 -
We got married in a manor house 2 and half years ago. We considered DH church, but decided against and explained why to the families who accepted it, until 6 weeks before the wedding MIL asked if the reason we didn't want a church wedding was because of the cost and she would pay for it. This was one of the reasons but not the driving one. She then moaned about it not being a church wedding until the day, when she changed her mind and said our day was the most beautiful wedding days she had ever been to.0

We were married in a Manor house, because we are not religious, so marrying in a church for nice photos would have been hypocritcal. We had to pay the registrar and then £150 for the room to marry in. This seemed good value for not having a que of people waiting at the registry office to get married in the next slot, and we had a lovely back drop fo the photographs."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

Church first time as everyone expected it (how lame is that!) 26 years ago but this time round as I'm now converted to maney saving ways it will be at a manor house type venue - because we can book one at comparatively short notice and get everything arranged at a good price!
Dress last time was made by my Mum, this time it will be from Monsoon (if I can convince myself I don't look like mutton dressed as lamb!):j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
:heart2: RIP Clio 1.9.93 - 7.4.10 :heart2:I WILL be tidy, I WILL be tidy!

Got married in a church first time and did the full works. Seperated over 7 years ago and with now OH for 6 years but we've never married
If I was ever mad enough to do it again it would be really informal, probably just in the grounds of a nice old mansion under a rose arbour or something. Marquee, band playing and kids running riot everywhereIf you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun:cool:
Don't mess with me sucker!!!
MSE squirrels club Member #2 - now where did I hide those nuts:eek:

We got married in a Las Vegas wedding chapel by an off-duty Rabbi!
We wanted somewhere neutral as we are from different sides of the world and knew that a wedding in one of our home countries would offend different people (sigh). Ended up spending the holiday looking after relatives and not ourselves and tbh wish it had have been just us.0 -

I got married here ( Highcliffe Castle)
http://www.highcliffecastle.co.uk/
I put the link in as its not really what people think when you say castle lol, My partern is catholic but not really into the whole church thing so this was perfect for us, I have also been married before in a church.0 -
We're getting married in a registry office (in three days!) for a few reasons. Himself isn't religious. I am but haven't found a church to get attached to where I live now I also haven't been christened and don't fancy going through that so it generally all seemed inappropriate and hard work! It's also cheaper in a registry office, and ours is absolutely gorgeous!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0
