Well... today has started off as a 'not a good day' ... I dread to think where I'll be by bed time
DD1 is meant to be visiting so I have 2 rooms to clear and vacuum before Samuel eats everything.
DD2 is not going out tonight seeing as she couldn't get her lazy self to school on time today.
DD3 was found stealing money again.. I didn't even ask her about it I held out my hand said.. £2 coin, 50p and 2 5ps... and she handed it straight over... little cow!
DS2 at 17 had to be bodily shoved into the shower!!! He needs a girlfriend!
DS3 also needs kicking to the shower... and OMG .. his stupid hair!!! I may immac his head one night..
DS1 came yesterday and appears to have lost my front door key I asked him to put it in the bookcase and it has disappeared.
and my M key is being a pain and not always working
Oh... and I need to pack for a horrible weekend
OH just had a major flounce at me because I said I don't think I can cope with a weekend there.. like I am being difficult on purpose.. he is deciding whether to take his dads fathers day stuff this weekend or in 4 weeks when we would be going again, but we might not be going in 4 weeks if I can't manage it. I suggested he wraps the stuff and leaves it at his mothers and if we go he can give him it and if we don't his sister can .. it won't make much difference surely!
Right... I can't think of anything positive to share today as yet... other than it is sunny and I can hang out my 2 loads of washing.. I shall try harder!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Morning everyone, am up bright and early. I got a rude awakening at 8am by the gas men. They knocked my door because they have finally got round to my section of the road and needed to get into the garage so they could shove gas pipes under my drive and into the garage.. I am praying they don't need to dig up the drive and replace the gas pipe - they haven't with the others in the road that they have done the work on. But you know my luck at the moment, it could just happen to me..lol
So anyway I got up and got showered and dressed, had an early breakkie, fed the birds.
Got cooed at by Mr Dove from my bathroom window, while I was showering.. He has taken a liking to cooing at me when I am in the bathroom for anything.. Mrs Dove has reserved the space outside the bathroom window for her new des resSo I am hoping I get to see little baby doves..I just hope they don't decide they prefer me rather than Mrs Dove..lol I already have one yearling that has adopted me for some reason, he sits on the brown bin outside the back door and cooes at me when I am in the kitchen, or sits on the shed roof and fluffs himself out when I am washing up because he can see me through the window. I'm honoured..lol
Have a wash load on, which I am avidly watching due to everytime it drains the water out it comes up in the kitchen sink. Had to paddle through the kitchen the other day because there was a blockage somewhere, so got the whole gibbins that was attached to the sink out and gave them a bloody good wash etc. We then stuck caustic soda down it at the weekend. It is still doing it, but at least not overflowing..plus it takes forever to drain away when you tip the washing up water out. DH did blast it with the plunger yesterday and, fingers crossed, it has made a bit of a difference. But I am staying within a reasonable distance of the machine just incase..lol
Yesterday I had a major clear out of a cupboard in the kitchenI wanted to seperate my pretty different willow plates and nice china mugs from the ordinary every day stuff. So cleared out the crockery cupboard. Wow didn't realise I had so much carpe in there..lol I managed to sort out the medicine boxes and have separated the painkillers etc into a box of it's own, the medicines/bandages etc into another box and the plasters in another box. I am always running out of painkillers but after sorting out the carpe I found I have enough for my own little chemist..lol We were also low on normal tumblers, so thought I would have to buy some more, but lo and behold I managed to find 14 tumblers that didn't have cracks etc in. I was amazed. So they are all washed and put away.
DH couldn't believe it as he had been using the same tumbler every day...lol Now he says he can vary it
But why does tidying up a cupboard always seem to make more mess elsewhere.. Nice cupboard but everywhere else looked untidy :rotfl:
OMG piggers, lots of gentle hugs sweeetie. It seems that you are really going through the runaround at the moment aren't you.. It can only get better though can't it? Do you think the older ones are playing up because of the baby, or are they just being grotbags?

trulymadlydeeply_indebt! wrote: »As a Caterer, I completely understand how you feel. I think people underestimate how much planning and prepping goes into these things. The cooking is the quick part! I have learned that if something can come ready chopped i.e. dates for sticky toffee puddings/apricots to go in couscous, then buy those. They are more expensive, but the time saving is a blessing when you have about 100 items to slice, dice, chop, peel, crush, grate etc., However, I do not apply this principal to pastry. I make my own which takes longer, but I prefer the result. I tried JusRol last time and it crumbled in the finished product.
I read the other day that you were working up until today (I think) and then doing 2 lots of catering on Saturday and I took my hat off to you.
Hope that helps.
TMD xx
You are correct TMD, 8-5 all week then on holiday tomorrow for shopping for the buffet & our 4-weekly shop, I don't mind the cookathon really, I am very good at multi-tasking :rotfl:, also don't mind the chopping/peeling, I have a lot of gadgets so generally tend to do it all at once & use what I need for each recope. It saves me a LOT of time when I am working, just take out freezer & defrost. Yes the meal planning does take time but I have a great spreadsheet which allows me to do this in jig time.
The buffet is only for 30-40 people so should be fairly simple but I am usally on top of the flying when my cookathon weekend comes around but DH has been nightshift & been as much use as a chocolate fireguard this week. I daresay I shall be glad to get back to work on Monday:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

Hmmm. The list is still long but I have been flying since I got back from the school run. DS3's bad hip started hurting on the walk to school so I'm very worried his crutches will be recomissioned.
HHI was done before school and I have had a major bin bag dance in the bathrooms. Loats of stuff flung and everything is clean and shiny ready for the plumber tomorrow.
I've also sorted out all my costume jewellery again being brutal and chucking odd earings and beads and baubles that I no longer wear. My make up bag has had a through edit too. I was shocked how out of date some stuff was.
2 bags of outgrown / unworn clothes out for a doorstep collection. Quite pleased with my efforts this morning. I'm going to have an hour in my bedroom cleaning and polishing and seeing what else I can fling before lunch.

DS is being a git. He's whinged all morning of being hungry, then not eaten his lunch. Was staying home but think we might have a trip out, see if it will perk us miserable lot up! He's gone through his trainers again so we might go shoe shopping.
They've both been sent upstairs for faffing over lunch. I wouldn't mind, I even made what they wanted, and they still faffed with it. I just took the plates away and calmly said "go to your rooms" - naughty mummyI must have looked serious as they both scarpered. So I'm taking the opportunity of 5min peace.
Then we'll go get shoes...Bossymoo
