To summarise:
1. You met a girl, she asked you to use your Ebay/Paypal account to buy her an iphone 5 and she'd then give you the money afterwards.
2. You did this, she took the phone and disappeared, and you now owe £585, but have no money to pay this.so whats action paypal can take to me ??
they will sue me and take me to court , jail ?? waht
very worry
To answer your question, then yes, Paypal will take you to court for the debt, they will win, and you will have a CCJ against you and have to pay the money back. You will probably be able to pay in instalments, but you will need to agree this with Paypal. They usually then just send a bailiff to collect the debt who could then take any of your possessions to sell to pay towards the debt.
Jail is unlikely.
You need to report this girl to the police before she moves onto her next victim.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Doesn't help with the immediate situation, but you could try contacting the seller to check that they kept a note of the IMEI and serial number. You can then register these with the police who may be able to block or trace the telephone via the network provider.0

Paypal never take anyone to court, worst that happens is they phone a lot over short time, and then give up."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

They won't take you to court, and they can't even phone you as your ex missus had the iphone away...
Forget about it shop on Amazon, and keep away from dodgy milfs."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Your right paypal wont take op to court but iqor paypal debt collection can yes only can not def do. Also they do not just give up,i had a debt with them under £200 they harrass and harrass you. For 2 full years until they were included in my br and so had no choice. Its not to frighten op but its no good telling people they wont when there is always a possibility. I was told that dca's dont come round they just threaten it,that was until jan2011 when one did just that all for £192. The end result was he left empty handed but it wasnt nice

If you owe Paypal, only Paypal can take you to court. Iqor only sent debt collectors round. Debt collectors only have power if there is a court order they are acting on, otherwise let them knock on your door.Your right paypal wont take op to court but iqor paypal debt collection can yes only can not def do. Whether Paypal ever do take anyone to court is another matter, perhaps they do write every debt off or just pass to debt collectors. I'm inclined to agree with Mr Brooker that it doesn't happen but that could always change or just be that people it has happened to don't talk about it.
As for the OP they can only put you in jail if there is evidence you acted fraudulently and you are prosecuted, they don't throw anyone in jail for owing £500..0
