Yes that is right paypal take the money from your bank account.

Have you checked you bank account balance?

The other thing with PayPal you do sometimes have to give a back up source if they can't get the money out of your bank account (normally a credit card) Maybe that is where they have taken the money from?

If they could not get the money from any where that might be why paypal is in negative but I have not heard of this before, hopefully someone else will be able to help soon.

I don't know what paypal will do in this situation. I suggest you pay in regular installments as long as they see you are making an effort to pay it off it might be difficult for then to take any action against you.

I don't believe you. If you pay for something by paypal and there is no money in the funding account either the funding account goes into overdraft, or the paypal payment fails for lack of funds.

What does not happen is that paypal acts as your private banker by making a payment on your behalf and then seeking to reclaim the money from your bank account, as you seem to be suggesting.

Either you are trolling, or you are not giving us the full facts.

This will show for the seller as a bank chargeback which seller can defend with proof of posting. It is interesting to see how easy a buyer can cause a seller problems, the selelr will have seen a cleared balance and sent in good faith.

Paypal will still be trying to claim money from the OPs bank account the money is already earmarked it will just be a case of whether the bank decline to pay the DD or allow it to go and overdraw the OP. Assuuming the bank decline the OP (resulting in seller's fund being held pending proof of postage), paypal will then show the oPs paypal account as a negative balance and start usual harrassment to clear the debt.

There is a fair chance that the bank will pay as paypal will have a back up source via a card, so even if that back up source is a debit card on the same bank account that can be paid- as the bank should not refuse to honour it .

There is a delay in paypal taking funds otherwise the system would not work. So paypal consider the funding source plus back up to be 'good' and sends money, seller gets that immediately (we don't get our funds held punding bank agreement to pay).

The only reason my scenario does not work is if seller has mistakenly sent phone when payment was only an echeque.

Then paypal will chase you and harrass you for the money, if you sell anything then that money will be taken and there is still a chance that the bank will allow you to go overdrawn if funds were earmarked in time..

I am just hoping that the seller has invoked full seller protection on this and doesn;t lose out.
