Orange Premier Customer?

Well I've been with Orange since it launched in the UK back in the 90s.

I'm on normal Orange 3G tariffs right now though, but with this upgrade, presumably they've put me onto an EE 4G for free.

If you're on EE4G then you're on EE, not Orange. 4G is not available ont Orange. This means that any offers on Orange probably won't be valid unless they're giving you the same on EE which is not impossible.

I know when I worked on Premier, customers used to receive a spare SIM. This was to keep for if ever they lost theirs so they didn't have to wait 3-5 days for a replacement. Could this be what they have sent?

Also, in my premier days, customers used to get some paperwork confirming the offer. Have you had anything like this?

Well after being on hold he managed to then hang up on me rather than transfer me.

Err, not the most auspicious of starts to this 'premier' service haha!

I'm sure you used to dial 303 from your phone to get through to Premier but I've just tried it and it doesn't work!

I think the internal speed dial was 343.

I honestly thought Premier had stopped but I could be wrong!

    Internal speed-dial was 303 or 306.

448 was the Premier CS number for customers back in the early 2000's. It's 150 now.

Also, OP, there is no such thing as "Premier" on EE 4G. There is also no such thing as free insurance either. I'd double check what you've agreed to.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Ah well, nearly right!! I knew there was a 303 somewhere!

  • The more I think about it, the more I think it is just a way of getting you on to EE. So no you definitely won't get the premier service as it was known previously.

Hopefully when you get the SIMs, it might give you an idea. And although there is no such thing as free insurance, they can discount the cost of it from your monthly bill, therefore making it 'free'. It is possible that this is what has happened and although not 100%, I think all of EE's CS are in the UK (at the mo)!
