just needing confirmation.....ok cool......sky will play through normal analogue channel and fv will come through av1 or alike?

    Yes you're correct, sorry

You may need to do some jiggling with the RF output frequencies on the Sky and FV boxes
If you let me know what transmitter you get your TV from, I can give you some options.

No, not without the aerial fly lead between stb and TV, the Sky channel will not pass via scart.
Leave it as per your picture.

The diagram in #30 is how I have my bedroom TV set up. The coax is needed from the Freeview STB to passthrough the RF2 (Ch 62, I believe) to the TV's internal analogue tuner.

Ok think I've sussed this out however trying to set up new tv and can't get it to locate any terrestrial tv as far as I can work out.

We don't really need it as we have sky but I was under the assumption that the freeview hd in the tv should work separately?

Aerial from roof goes into sky box then hdmi to tv? Should the tv pick up the aerial or am I getting something wrong?

    Sorry bit of a dufus!

You plug the aerial into the back of the tv as though you are just using a tv on its own. Then you can record two channels from the Sky box while watching a third via the aerial.

The Sky box doesn't take aerial feed, like a PVR. It gets its signal from the dish.

Aerial needs to go into the TV as said in the previous post.

    Freeview needs the aerial feed.

Ok but how do I then get the aerial feed which is feeding the bedrooms freeview etc?

Separate question....I have aerial going into sky box then from rf2 to a new freeview tv. It's obviously picking up the aerial as its tuned in no probs, have all channels and a good pic. problem is I now can't get the sky feed which I was getting before. The tv is tuned to dtv air it says which I assume is the digital element of the tuner. Can't seem to find the analogue channels that I think the sky feed needs to come through??

And second one. Had to manually tune and read somewhere about channel 68. Somehow managed to get it to work. Prob is samsung a didnt seem to have an easy switch from analogue to digital but if I press 1 twice while on bbc 1 it switches. Or if I press down channel while on bbc 1 it also goes to atv 1. Not sure how I managed it but think I'm sorted until next time ;-).

There are no analogue channels anymore. Sky Digital launched years before the switch over of terrestrial.

All you need is to plug your aerial directly into the television and bypass the Sky box altogether. This will provide your Freeview services.

Then you make sure your Sky box has it's feed(s) from the satellite dish connected properly. This provides Sky services to your decoder. You then connect the Sky box via HDMI (or a SCART lead) to the television.

If you want Freeview you then select the appropriate AV channel and the same for Sky.

Posts #36 and #37 have already told you this.

The RF from the Sky box are rather redundant unless you want to fit a Sky "Magic Eye" to feed another TV.
