Daligas Energy reviews: Give your feedback

  • An excellent summary from Moneyspice. One small point, they also do a reconciliation if you change tariff.

I keep a running record of where I am on a spreadsheet. It is easy to do and not much harder with a pencil and paper. This is the only way you will know whether you are running up a debit or credit. I would expect to be in credit during the summer when consumption is low.

I really like the company. It is simple and unsophisticated but it works for me. I have just asked to change to the new cheaper tariff.

  • As a potential new customer I looked at daligas based on their very attractive pricing but unfortunately the more I looked the worse it got.

Having recently had what could best be described as an "interesting" experience being an Extra Energy customer in the end I have decided to stay with Zog Energy who have been faultless so far in the short time I've been with them.

The company directors of daligas appear to be Greek which is not a problem in itself but it probably does explain some of the strange wording and phrasing used throughout their website.

Being honest the feedback received on here so far does not look good and does not inspire confidence in the company.

Their so called monthly bills turn out to be nothing more than a receipt for the payment received during the month?

I understand the Budget Billing Plan but as a customer when I input a meter reading on a monthly basis I really do expect my next monthly "statement" to to be a statement which accurately reflects the state of my account and shows my usage, payments made and balance at that date.

The reports of frequent delays in sending our both monthly, annual and final statements, and in particular the delays in refunding credit balances after a customer has left are inexcusable and unacceptable and the excuses provided by daligas are laughable.

Unless other users can convince me otherwise unfortunately in this instance I shall have to take heed of that age old saying "beware of Greeks bearing gifts."

With Extra Energy I really did learn the hard way that price alone is definitely not everything.

You don't get this with Daligas. It doesn't have a sophisticated billing update system and you have to be aware of this limitation. I have never had a problem with the reconciliations. Rather this than the mess I got into with Scottish Power -- I prefer "unsophisticated" to "wrong".

The gas flows and the price is excellent, which is all I care about. However, I completely understand your reservations.

I have been with Dallas since 1 June 2015 and so far very happy. I have in the last few days changed tariffs to their new 1 year fix and have already received my closing statement showing a credit of £64.00 and budget information for the new one.

However I get the impression when you phone them the phones are operated by a home worker but certainly no complaints.

They certainly are a lot cheaper than EE. I was paying for my gas with EE
23.594p daily charge and 3.654p per unit but with Dallas its about 9.50 and 2.70 per unit.

Can I apply with a prepaid gas meter? I submitted an application but now believe it's going to get refused.

    Sorry can't help rumcake.

I've just done my quarterly fuel check and found Daligas have dropped their price again (2.7 pence per unit and 9.5 pence daily standing charge) so have phoned them to switch from the ONE fix 12 which I signed up for in Feb(?). Only £40 a year but easy to do. Have your meter reading ready for them so they can reconcile your bill.
  • A weird company. Certainly cheap. We didn't get any letters or anything from them until after we moved out, we didn't even know we were using this company. We received a bill from them and I set up a direct debit with them to pay it off. They never took any money out and I got an email asking for the money owed. I explained that they should have set up a direct debit, so they again confirmed the direct debit was set up. 2 months passed no more money was taken so I emailed to ask why. Their reply stated it was a technical issue and the direct debit was now set up. Three more months have passed and no money has been taken out. I'm not contacting them anymore I've wasted enough time, you'd think they'd want the money!

    glad I found this thread

just received my first bill & was puzzled by the lack of detail eg no start & end reads, no start & end dates etc ...

having read above that the monthly bill is just effectively a receipt for the DD then that explains it but I wish I had known beforehand as it might have affected my decision to use them

TBH I dont know why they even bother making the receipt look like a bill because its just bound to confuse people - I bet a lot of customers phone them asking about it

The one big issue I have is that there is no confirmation that the transfer read is correct until you have been with them for a whole year - unless you are well organised you could get caught out by this if you forget to check it or forget what the transfer read should be
  • Swapped to Daligas last week and submitted my opening reading online. They did send back an email reply with the meter reading showing as I had entered it.

So I'm assuming that they have updated my account correctly with that value.

Also my old supply has used that reading to produce a final bill so again assuming all is well.

If you submit an on-line reading you can also upload to Daligas a picture of the meter reading (note the file size is a maximum of 3Mb so you may have to edit the file to get it down in size before uploading it).

And finally I agree that the monthly emailed bill is really just a reminder of the direct debit and the date it is going to be taken from your account.

But if it is saving me money and at the yearly anniversary I'm have a small credit/debit balance then I'm happy. I do log my readings regularly to a spreadsheet and keep a watch on my energy use so I can be aware of any issues so I don't feel too worried by the sparse information from Daligas.

Has anyone ever received a final bill from Daligas?

I left at the start of January and was told to wait six weeks when I enquired about a final bill. Never waited this long with any other supplier.

Today is exactly six weeks and guess what? No final bill.

They owe me a small credit balance, so I am keen on getting this bill ASAP.
