  • Thanks for the messages, at least I know I'm not writing to myself :rotfl:

The day has ended up really nice after a terrible start - I even came home to a spotless bathroom

Found some inspiration and just cleaned out bathroom cabinet and found about 5 bottles of suncream from factor 8 up to 15 so me and DH will use them, and I will buy the kids some new (good mother that I am :D )

I have also just tackled the kitchen cupboards and moved everything. This flylady thread on the OS has really given me a kick up the bum. I am working from home tomorrow and normally I would spend an hour or so cleaning, but it is more or less done and I feel calm and on top of it all - maybe that was why I didn't hit DH on the head with his new golfclub.

He has tried to make me appreciate it since we got home, asking if I wanted a go  I politely declined. He has however suggested that he sell some PS games he no longer uses and an old set of golf clubs to try and make up the money he has spent. So temporarily the message has got through, although I am not stupid enough to think that we will not hit another hurdle like this.

Now going to do Tescos shopping online, have a small list as I intend to try and feed me and the kids on the contents of our cupboard and freezer next week. Will report back on my shopping total and then a relaxing night for me, which will involve that nice bottle of rose wine that is chilling in the fridge :D

Thanks for the messages today, nice to know people care x

p.s. OliveOyl - your message gives me hope
  • Ok - Tescos shop done and coming tomorrow. Found a £8 off voucher online and total came to £50.77 :j :j :j This included suncream for kids, insect repellant and wine and food for saturday night. We are having a greek meal at our house with friends and we are all doing a course, I'm going to attempt vegetarian moussaka  and so have all ingredients and my drink for the night. Came to about £8 in all which is a lot cheaper than going out for the night.

Shopping included toilet roll, kitchen roll, cat food for a fortnight so I am really pleased with the sum.

Menu plan is all in place and on the fridge. I am now sat (tidily of course) on the settee sampling my wine and feel that all in all today wasn't too bad :D

  • :hello: Thought I'd update my diary.

Having a lovely peaceful day, DH is working away all week and kids are at Grandma's (since last night) so complete peace and quiet :j

Just sat down and sorted out money (again!) Been on snowball which I haven't done for a while and updated my sig. Still waiting for Barclaycard and MBNA bill to come to update properly but I am in an efficient mood today.

Was up at 8, did all my flylady jobs so house is now spotless, but I suspect that is just because I am currently childless. Got loads of work to do as I want to take the kids out for a picnic tomorrow so I need to do 2 days worth of work between now and 5pm

Just spoke to DH as I was p****d off when I got Halifax bill and am paying stupid amount of interest. He has one 0% credit card and I cannot get anymore as Northern Rock loan is in my name. He has suggested we apply for a 0% egg card in his name and transfer one of the balances over. Think, if he is accepted, I will transfer Halifax over to his card. Then when Barclaycard finishes its deal in December I should be able to get a credit card in my own name and shift that - I can but try!

One good thing was the £76 that visited my account from Quidco :j which ended up offsetting against Dh's golf club purchase.

I have also got around to cleaning out my wardrobe and have a huge pile of clothes and jewellery to ebay and raise more CC funds.

Have been down to the charity shops today with a couple of bin bags (yes I have far too many clothes!) which I couldn't ebay and also took some books to 2nd hand book shop and exchanged them for some books for DH for his birthday which look brand new and are on his list of wants - and they cost me nothing. :j

Mortgage offer has been signed and sent back and we have a date for completion for 1st October 2007 so hopefully that will resolve my stress of the mortgage and we are still on a repayment and stuck to our term of 18 years. So after all my ideas about switching to an interest only to try and survive, I can in fact survive on a repayment still :D
Ok, off to work I go...............
  • I am absolutely ecstatic :j :j :j :j

DH has just rung me and he has applied online for a 0% Egg card (I am firstly amazed that he has done it so quickly I hasten to add as I only spoke to him about half an hour ago) and...........he was accepted with a credit limit of £11,250.00

He has therefore said as soon as the card comes through I can transfer the whole of the Halifax balance and some of the Barclaycard balance. I should then be left with about £3000 on the Barclaycard which I will try and transfer to a 0% card in December when the deal ends.

This month I worked out I paid £118 in interest alone on these two cards, so although there is a transfer fee this will be far less than the interest over the next few months.

I am so so so so pleased and DH is utterly redeemed for that damn golf club :D

So I now have 12 months of interest free CC which I will be paying at £600 a month from next week so that will be £7200 wiped off in one year :D
  • Oh hun that is fabby news I am really pleased for you!!! xx
